i heard the twin peaks theme song about 2 years ago, and thought it was alright. then i found the fire walk with me theme, and really liked it. i bought the complete soundtrack, listened to it about 50 times, got the tv series soundtrack, did the same. i found a torrent a couple months ago that had all the twin peaks episodes, and the movie. due to the utter insanity that is bittorrent, it took about a month to finish downloading, and i've been watching episodes ever since. during the first few episodes, i thought it was pretty shitty, but once the show got going, i liked it. episode 207 was outright good, with an odd reference to a horse, and the revelation of laura's killer. then today, for me, has been pretty much nothing but twin peaks, i've watched about 5 more episodes, and just got done with the movie. man-o-man, i don't like much, but that movie, i liked. in fact, watching the series after seeing the movie is a bit of a dissapointment. the movie is much darker, the writting is better, there's no necissary tv dialogue, and sheryl lee is in it prominately. why am i posting this? fuck knows, i guess it's just burned in my head... like a negative, and typing it out is somehow developing the film. or, i've fucking LOST IT, and bob's on his way here. i might go watch the movie again.

oh hell yeah the movie is better!
but its MUCH better if you watch the entire series first! :D

the last episode of the series made me want to punch something... its up there with the movie.
(but you need to watch every episode fleading up to it!!!)

fuck yeah
fwwm theme creeps me out, I love it.
twin peaks theme can bring tears to my eyes.

David Bowie's part in the movie is fucking awesome...
and although seemingly random at first, I've made sense out of it.
I can't say why though, until you are done.

Audrey is hot, but I guess its ok she wasn't in the movie.
My warning about the 2nd season... things get a little cheesier at parts...
David Lynch starting directing less, but there are parts when it picks up again so hard its incredible.
Certain parts get real weird... I seem to remember the later episodes having even more of a 'uh oh wtf is going on' type feeling to them.

It so awesome seeing how everything leading up to the pilot is set up.
The european version of fwwm is called Fire Walk With Me: The Last 7 days of Laura Palmer, and they actually count the days down as the movie goes. Weird.

The lack of owls in fwwm is interesting.

Hahah, there's so much to talk about over twin peaks.

i'm up to episode 213, out of 222, so 10 more to go. yeah, the continuity is good from the movie, i mean, there were a lot of scenes that would remind me of shit from season 1, and sarah palmer seeing the horse before laura falls made some sense. i really thought cooper and laura sharing a dream was good in episode 207, i believe. laura flynn boyle was the only one not in the movie, which was stupid. it's apparently because of the nude scene, but it's rather distracting not having her in it. the ring hasn't been mentioned yet in the series, which i find a bit odd. unless it turns out to be coopers ring that he gave to the giant, which from what i've seen of it, it isn't. really the entire plot of the movie seemed familiar, with someone being addicted to coke, and these people trying to understand it, unable to grasp. if you've read heavier than heaven, i think i drew some parallels from that, in regards to kurt's last days. i've got a bit of a beef with the series now though, how they haven't even mentioned laura's name since leland palmer's demise. it's just about cooper and ben horne's shit. oh, and audrey appeared in playboy.

I hear they were going to do a third season but didn't get the go ahead. hense the Ultra Cliff hanger ending.

Cooper is my fucking hero. I almost want to grow my hair out and slick it back Cooper style.

What did he say to Audry horne in the first episode when she asked to sit down at his table? Something like:

"can I sit down"

"Well Judging by your name I would guess you are the Daughter of Benjimen Horne, the owner of this hotel; you can sit anywhere you want. But might I add, it would be my pleasure"

Damn, what a smooth operator!

haha, I forgot about a few of those events.
I haven't seen the series in about 4 years now. (and that was the only time I've seen it)

The ring was sort of a new idea for fwwm...
And...
wait
holy crap.
I think i figured out something.

I never thought the ring that cooper gave to the giant was the same ring...
but maybe it did the same thing.
I'll stop speaking now.
Just let me know once you're done with all the episodes.
I need to watch all the episodes again.

seeing Fire Walk With Me after you watch the series is best of course,
otherwise you know the ending, which would take all the suspense out of it...
i still wouldn't say the movie was better than the series...actually, the first time i saw the movie,
i didnt' really like it, it's grown on me.
i have a crush on agent cooper

My bro got into it pretty heavily over the past semester. I'm bugging him to get the dvds. He did get the soundtracks, and they're pretty damn cool.
Fantomas covers "Fire Walk with Me"....it's cool.

i saw the movie before i started watching the series. The movie was definately out there! But it was great, like most things by David Lynch. I've only seen like 5 episodes a year ago, but watching the movie kinda ruins things tho. When i watch the episodes i just want scream MURDERER!!!!!!!! :P

I need to pick up where i left off again

What the hell is Twin Peaks? I just keep thinking "Northern Exposure"

didn't they used to play those two shows back to back like 14 years ago?
I remember my mom used send me to my room if i said a single word during
Twin Peaks, and then i think Northern Exposure would come on - another hour of the
quiet game

It's a show, and a movie, and they're pretty weird.
That's all you need to know.

twin peaks was a show (broadcasted in 1990 i think?) directed (and co-written w/ Mark Frost) by David Lynch, he did Blue Velvet, Lost Highway and Eraserhead.....if you've seen any of those movies you might understand the general feel (or weirdness) of the show. It's really well done.
It also stars Kyle McLachlan  (who was in Blue Velvet too)

twin peaks and northern exposure are utterly nothing alike, but yeah, i think they were out about the same time. i believe picket fences and northern exposure were shown back to back. picket fences, from what i recall of it now, was really trying to be like twin peaks, and couldn't achieve it. i saw some guy from "desperate housewives" the other day saying that show was similar to twin peaks. then i watched it, and, er no. the closest thing to twin peaks i can think of, is millennium, just because of the visions and shit. millennium is better though.
