A couple times I've been able to reach Zeromus on FFIV Advance without fighting any random battles, only bosses. This also means I can't open any chests with monsters inside. Some boss fight solutions were fun to discover.
I'm too underleveled to defeat Zeromus at the end, though. Sometimes I think about learning the 4-hour speedrun method, but it only works for FF2 SNES.

Please elaborate! I was unaware they increased the difficulty on the GBA port.

FFIV Adv doesn't have increased difficulty, it's that FF2 SNES has reduced difficulty. I think boss behavior as well as health and damage are all different, and the items are changed, too. Also a really awesome glitch is in the SNES one that you can't do on GBA that involves obtaining millions of gil by tricky menu navigation at a shop.

I've got 2-3 free hours right now, so I'm hoping I can battle my 25th through 30th PinkPuff groups. Wish me luck!

[EDIT] Got one group after just 3 battles! It gave me an Elixir and an Ether2. An then the next group appeared after 50 minutes and gave me nothing. Now I'm hungry so screw this :P

I'm still plugging away at my first playthrough of FF6. Coming up on 40 hours

Terra, Celes, and Edgar are in the early 60s with Ultima. Edgar is hitting occasional quad-9999s with jump. I've been grinding the shit out of the dinoforest trying to get an economizer for about 25 levels on my main dudes. Right now I've got a Wind God Gau and a Dragoon Locke grinding the forest as a duo with near max magic def trying to catch up with the rest of the party. Salivating over the though of 2mp X-magic ultima on Terra or Celes :P

Castle man, take me by the hand lead me to the land, of the hidden ham.

When you hit 200+ hours on FFTAdvance, then we can talk.

Just beat VI. Didn't end up getting an economizer <_< My 3 groups in the end were:

-Mog with a Mog charm (who managed to take down Goddess by himself despite being one of my lowest level dudes)
-Celes, Sabin, and Gau
-Edgar, Locke, and Terra

I decided to keep my parties small so I didn't waste time on revivng dead guys I didn't level. Took down Kaptain Carbon and only lost Sabin due to carelessness.

I enjoyed my first FF playthrough! Can't decide if I want to start up another RPG after this or take a break before FFIV, Chrono Trigger, or SoM to play through some shorter games.

Definitely get some friends to play Secret of Mana with you.
It's a great game even by yourself, but it's simply amazing when you have some capable teammates.

Or really annoying because your teammates keep pausing the game to open the menu and cast spells.

He did say "capable teammates."

Technically, the SNES version of FF6 is multiplayer. There's an option in the config screen.

I've never used it, though, nor can I imagine it being any fun.

For that, I think that you'd need to go beyond "capable teammates" to "psychic twin."

Unfortunately, my psychic twin isn't all that into video games. Plus, she lives in Wisconsin.

I've tried it before.
Whenever one of my friends would play this game, I'd have to be Sabin because they weren't able to perform his Blitzes.
Outside of battle, player 2 pretty much just sits there and watches.
Although, I think they are able to control the airship for some reason.
Usually they just end up screwing around and ruin any progress you're making.

I fired up FFIV earlier and WOWZA this game is much more different from VI than I expected. I always expect SNES sequels to be more like the Mega Man X series with little variation in quality. Seems fun so far, glad to start with a dragoon of the bat. Is there anything important I should know up front about this game?

In other news, TheMonk3y's brother has SoM, and I've got a multitap, so we're going to start co-opping it soon I think . Need to get a third person though.
