I thought it was intense and very effective. The ending made me kinda bummed for the rest of the day when I watched it, which is something most horror films won't do.I love Audition. That's the whole point of it. It blindsided audiences when it came out, which was back in 1999, before torture porn ran rampant.
I'd say I liked it because it was well directed and interesting, and I give anything that makes me feel a strong way bonus points, but I don't think I'd care to watch it again.

Yes it was. I read nothing about it so everything was a really pleasant surprise. The end of the movie was just sheer madness. I loved it.Cabin in the Woods was fantastic. Go watch it now.
Also, by far the best credited role in the movie was "Fornicus, Lord of Bondage and Pain". I nearly died when I saw that in the credits.

Spoiler
oh, and using Nine Inch Nails' "Last", my NIN favorite song, during the credits was awesome. I felt like someone got bored and just made a movie with a ton of things I would like. APPROVED

Just watched this. I'll save you the time if you planed on watching it yourself.
Dopey film maker hears of epic drug antics of a band called Ministry on their '94 tour. He decides to tag along with Ministry for their '96 tour. However, the '94 tour was well funded, arenas, airplanes, fests, ect. The '96 tour was underfunded, clubs, buses, trains, lame. So this film maker guy basically followed the band around for a year during the tour and taped as much as he could, waiting for something to happen. waiting for someone to die, or to OD, or to get arrested, or fight, or ANYTHING. But nothing happened. Everyone got along, everyone did drugs, every show was played on time and well. the film maker then sat on this footage for years and years and years because he didnt get the Al Jourgenson death scene he wanted. Now he is older, with nothing going for him, so he decided to just now (15 years later) put all his footage together to make a weird doc about Al Jourgenson, the person who he had the most footage from. alone, the footage was boring so he pulled some strings and got interviews with people who may or may not have know Al. Jello Biafra? Close friends with Al and the gang. Johnathan Davis? Wtf?
It sucked.

First of all I don't find stories about a struggle between good and evil particularly compelling, and I didn't really understand the villain's motivation other than that he was just a bad dude. But once you get past that, it was pretty entertaining. I hate to say it, but Scarlett Johanssen did an OK job in this, way better than she was in Iron Man 2. I could actually believe what she was doing, unlike most of her roles. The best was Hawkeye, that guy was a skilled actor, seemed real, and looked cool too. I have a hard time seeing anyone but Bill Bixby in the role of Banner but the guy they had did a good job. The part about how they got him to join the mission...haha, total 70s TV show stuff.
There were a few things that made me think "Fiddle dee dee! How convenient!" and

The only pre-Avengers movie I have yet to see now is the 2008 Hulk movie.

Really? I felt like CA was great as a stand-alone. I mean, aside from the first and last 5 minutes there's not a whole lot of Avengers build up, and it was done pretty well, I thought. Go figure it's the same director as the Rocketeer, I quite liked his take on the 40s there too!Captain America got on Netflix recently so I gave it a watch. Good movie, but I got the same sort of feeling that I had during Iron Man 2 - it kind of felt like the movie wasn't trying to stand up by itself, and only served as a lead-in to the Avengers movie. If The Avengers doesn't stand up to the hype it's building I'll be disappointed.
The only pre-Avengers movie I have yet to see now is the 2008 Hulk movie.
Also, The Incredible Hulk is good stuff. WAY better than just Hulk that came out in 2004 (I think). And the Avengers tie in is just short and sweet, nothing explicit like IM2 or CA.
