You shouldn't have to explain that. It's common knowledge.

Perhaps the same can be said of all birth control. But enough posting- have at you!

Ditto, he's one of those characters that's ... almost just an idea, dependant on a good writer to build and flesh out.
Like the 52 stuff, and the old JLI era (which depended on the humor and Ted Kord friendship) as some of the Jergins stuff before the relaunch.

I admittedly haven't read any Booster Gold comics in the last couple years. But I will always love JLI. 52 was great, as well.

that's a great description. like Animal Man, who rules right now. I would describe a lot of DC characters that way, other than their mega-stars.

Regarding Characters, how do you (we) define the ideas of Origin, Motivation, Purpose, and Character-as in what're they like as a personailty.

For example, Booster Gold's Origin is he's a disgraced althlete from the future who comes back in time to make money and live the high life.

His Purpose was/is to show the evolution from a crass/selfish individual, into a true heroic altruist.

His Motivation is ... ?
Most recently, his Mission was to Protect the Time Stream, but I don't know if that still the status quo as he just seems to be leading the new JLI--and Mission isn't the same as Motivation.

His Character is happy-go-luck, show off, all around bro (bro in the best sense, as in a guy who has your back).

Vs, Batman:
Origin: Parents shot in front of him, vows to end crime.
Motivation: End crime, avenge parents murder
Purpose: show what the ultimate potential of humankind could be, both positive and negative.
Charater: dark brooding know-it-all.

IMO, Batman has also become a walking deus ex machina, who is shown to always be the ultimate solution to any problem, because he's popular and sells.

so i woke up today with this strange feeling that its time to make some more changes in life. not in a bad way, just feeling ready for some shit to move on, etc etc blah blah

then i read the story of marvel not only making it illegal for the creator of Ghost Rider to claim that he is the creator, but hitting him with a retroactive $17000 judgement based on sales of prints he made. amongst some other decisions (nothing earth shattering, trust me) i have made today, i dont think i will be supporting marvel comics anymore. this is actually kinda easy right now, as DD and UXF are the only things i read from them. it saddens me though, as their comics have truly given me thousands of hours of enjoyment, but i just cant support this shit anymore.

Way to go Joe!

And, tangentially related:

I am really pleased with this creativity, use/marketing.

"The Diesel Sweeties eBook-Stravaganza 3000 is a cut above the average Kickstarter campaign, both in the breadth of the project being considered and the originality of the prizes being offered."

"I hope youíll also store this collection and share it with your friends. Remix it for devices that donít exist, buy a decommissioned missile silo and Apocalypse-proof it . . ."

While TWD has always had a solid story, once Tony Moore left the series the art went to shit.

Congrats! I can't give up Amazing Spiderman or X-Force at the moment, but I admire your dedication. Marvel has always seemed to me like the guys who made them put Poochie in Itchy and Scratchy. MTV types who do stuff for shock value, if that makes sense.
