We have started doing a "morning huddle" at work. It's the latest "best practice" that our President is trotting out from some seminar he went to. The idea is fine: give employees information each day, do some stretching. What's really annoying is that these are MANDATORY, in the sense that you will be written up for not attending. Even if I'm in the middle of an in-depth meeting with a client, I'm to make them wait for 10 minutes while I go attend The Huddle.
Also stupid: we have a "war cry" at the end of each one, typically something corny and/or cringeworthy. The idea of it is cringeworthy on it's own: I'm in sales, motherfucker. This isn't a war. For fuck's sake.
Anyway, work is still fine. It's just annoying to be forced to participate in silly shit when I do an excellent job of staying on top of the latest by reading message boards and my email. But some people are too lazy to do that, so here we are.
