So this morning it's the usual routine. I take the bus from my house to the skytrain station, crowd on with the rest of the herd of people, crammed in with everyone like sardines and bury my face in whatever reading material I happen to have on me until it's over. So I'm in my usual position, my back to the dividing wall on the right side of the skytrain, a Dean Koontz novel in my hands, when I notice someone move in my peripheral vision as we approach the next station.

I turn to look and see that movement is from someone getting up from their seat to disembark at the station. I think to myself. "I'm in luck! It's a very rare opportunity to actually be able to sit down during the morning rush".

So, I saunter merrily towards the newly vacant seat, reflecting upon my good fortune. Nobody's even close to that inviting place of rest and it's mine for the taking.

Halfway there I look at the occupant of the window seat and OMFG it's the girl I like. So I sit beside her and say "hey, how's it going?" then she...

...No, wait. That's not how it happened. I don't even make it to the seat. Upon recognizing her I freeze in a sudden onset of nervous terror, and quickly turn around and resume my previous post, head buried in a novel, hoping she didn't notice me. The seat is promptly taken by some other dude.

And that is the story of why I'll be single forever.

That sounds somewhat familiar to my own most recent situaiton. So, I'm studying at a table in this coffee house, when all the sudden I look up and this cute girl I kinda know is sitting at the table right in front of mine. I don't know if she noticed me there or not, or even remebers who I am, but I just buried my face in my notes because I was too nervous to even say hi. She was promptly joined by a bunch of friends.

Now the part where it gets bad, is I get really easily distracted from studying, and often times I'll just end up staring off into space for a few seconds before I snap out of it and get back to my notes. Usually just a blank spot on the wall or a fan, or something shiny. But every time this happened, I just ended up staring at her like an akward idiot. Might as well have had my tonge out and been drooling too... Eventually, I just got up and left as quickly as possible without making eye contact.

So know, she probably thinks I'm a complete weirdo.

I had been doing well about not getting hung up on any girls lately, but now I can't get her out of my head.
