So true. Japan doesn't have much to brag about these days. Dark Souls. Maybe The Last Guardian if it's ever released. Metal Gear Solid 4 was ages ago. Resident Evil 5 sucked compared to 4 (which was easiliy in the top 3 of its generation). Nintendo still makes a good Zelda or Mario game, though it's really just rehashes from the GameCube days with gimmicky controls at this point.

Kid Icarus Uprising is awesomely fresh. More where that came from please!

You guys are all a bunch of huge fucking pussies for crying over Dracula X being too hard.

(sorry, I know this isn't much of an argument, but this discussion has devolved into some serious sillyness at this point)

I think DX is pretty fucking hard, but I think the controls feel a bit tighter than SCV4. CV4, you can whip in a bunch of directions, which is nice, but
after playing the games back to back, it feels a lot weirder. In DX, I feel anyways, you get to move a bit better, a bit faster, but the game is still really
fucking difficult. That's just me. I prefer Dracula X, so. Whatdo I KNOW>? !:! ! :!

I keep hearing you guys complaining about the "clunky" controls in Dracula X, but I don't hear any of you bashing the controls in CV1-3. What's the difference? They essentially have the exact same feel. I don't get it. <_<

I'm with Ashane, DX feels the same as the old school ones to me. Just about as hard too, if not on the same level.

Rondo on the TG16/PC looks more fluid than its SNES counterpart as far as Richter's movements. I mean, after seeing him in SotN, I kinda expected him to move his legs with a little more effort. But no, he just seems to be a carbon copy of the other Belmonts of Castlevania's past.

Other than that though, it's still a decent game.

Use 800 gigabytes of samples, I give approximately 0 gigafucks.

Super Castlevania IV had amazing controls. It set the bar for future Castlevania games. But then the followed it up with the same old controls in Castlevania 1, 2, and 3.

I liked the old CV controls. Simple and effective.

Personally, I find the CV controls far too frustrating. They worked out well in CV2 because the game itself was a much slower pace, with less focus on action. But, not being able to change direction in the air is something I can just not gel with.

Super Meat Boy would have failed a million times over if it did not have such responsive control.

Still, just me.

Difficult controls are an essential part of what made early CV games.

i cross'd a barrier into SCOOPvilLe yesterday and dunked with the best jammers and fresh dip ballers roundabout through an awesome bomb dunk party.

Yeah, getting used to the controls is a pivotal part of enjoying those games.

The games are designed around Simon's/Trevor's movements, of course. It's not as though they crafted a bunch of levels and then dropped a bollock and threw a massively inadequate character into them.

(It's like Ghouls 'n' Ghosts - it has its deliberate, methodical pacing precisely because Arthur moves like he's shat himself. It'd be a very different and potentially far less important game otherwise.)
