I might as well post this again because I bet most people skipped over it in the GIRLS! thread.

I thought that Jesus was a "Moor," like Othello.

If that's true, that makes the Virgin Mary a Moor also. And God, because his half of the zygotes...yeah.

i forgot about that letter.

fantastic stuff, certainly. shame it never got a reply of any kind.

I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15:19- 24. The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

Appolonius of Tyana > Jesus.

He's basically the same thing, but underground instead of mainstream. So he's still got scene cred.

Doesn't the main idea of this thread already exist in the form of "Freedom of Speech"?

You guys make me ks, holy crap

I might as well post this again because I bet most people skipped over it in the GIRLS! thread.

I thought that Jesus was a "Moor," like Othello.

If that's true, that makes the Virgin Mary a Moor also.  And God, because his half of the zygotes...yeah.

I kind of did address that, indirectly. I asked a Christian friend about the ridiculous laws in the Old Testament (such as Deuteronomy 23:1
'A man whose testicles have been crushed or whose penis has been cut off must not be admitted to the congregation of Yahweh.' )

He gave this answer:
"The Mosaic law was for the dispensations leading to the church age. After Christ, the church age had the Bible and no longer needed the mosaic law since the mosaic law depended on prophecy and special revelation from God - both of which are no longer active gifts in the church age. He didn't change his appearance to become Christ since God can appear in any shape or form He wants to. He became Christ to mecime the God-man (hypostatic union) so that he could redeem mankind from the penalty of sin."

LOL, I'm sure this is backed up with some sort credibility. You know, instead of just making it up in your head, as opposed to most major religion which is at least based on supposed historical fact.

There is very little historical evidence to prove Jesus existed, also (outside of church writings). I could be wrong.

Im sure most of us agree that Jesus is pretty radd... I know I dont hate on Jesus.

Yeah, but some people believe some stuff from it but not other stuff. Shouldn't all of it be read as history, not as rules (if you believe in the Bible in the first place)?

"the last christian died on the cross"

--Nietsche

I always liked this quote.

Part of the greatness of the historical Jesus was his questioning of authority and societal norms. On the other hand, alot of modern christians seem to strive for meekness and having blind faith in biblical teachings

'blind faith' . it sounds like somthing a fool would have, but is it?
i think one of the most frustrating things in religion , is not REALLY knowing if god is around. some people DO know (in their hearts) . others do not.
the blind faith thing really urks atheists. and it is a really wierd subject.

jesus said that only an 'evil and adulturous nation would seek signs and wonders.'

and also there is ' thou shalt not tempt the lord thy god.'

meaning we cant see physical evidence of GOD, nor can we ask of it.

this might seem really frustrating or confusing to people.

to those who hate god or dont believe in him, and to those who do beileve and love him, and to all ignostic. why do you think that is? philisophically. think of your own life experience and stuff. why would god say, im here believe in me..... but i wont show my self, and if you ask to see, your naughty.

Im really tempted to start preaching but instead Im just going to recommend some books to read:

"Home with God" by Neale Donald Walsch
"I: Reality and Subjectivity" by David R. Hawkins

And some movies:

"What the bleep do we know?"
"The secret: The Law of Attraction" (google video)

I don't believe in god but I feel proud to have an anecdote of mine be used for this thread's subtitle.
