Pandora's Tower arrived in the mail today. It's definitely the darkest game of the three, I'd say you guys will get it eventually, after all you guys smashed Xenoblades sales, over 140,000 copies on launch week, which is another 30,000 more copies more than EU and Japan combined, JRPG's on the Wii at least seem to be more in demand in the US than Japan itself .

The US is also slightly bigger and has just a few more people than Japan, so i'm not sure that's really accurate. regardless, that's a respectable amount of sales for a game we weren't even sure we would see in America.

Although JRPGs fans are practically a niche audience here, while over there everyone plays them.

Disk based games should never be impossible to find. I mean, if there is strong demand, why not just print some more? It's not like Xenoblade is low profile.

Tell that to Metroid Prime Trilogy. Nintendo really dropped the bomb on that one.

that had a fancy metal case though and the metroid prime series never sold really well despite the critical acclaim. it makes it kind of a limited collectors edition.

better safe than sorry if you plan on playing it eventually, but it's very rare for disk based games to be hard to find (if they've come out any time recently).

I'm pretty sure all the concern about Xenoblade's availability comes from the fact there are only two places you can buy the game new, whether it's from Gamestop (EB Games if you're in Canada) or from Nintendo itself.
If as many copies of Xenoblade are made as any other game on the market, I don't see those two outlets selling that many copies by themselves.
I would think they'd make a smaller number of copies so they don't have a bunch left over when interest in the game dies out.
Of course, I don't know any of this for a fact, but it makes sense to me.
Anyone got a different theory on the matter?

Speaking of Xenoblade, I think I'm nearing the end of the game.
I've played for about 60 hours now...

Anyone know a good GameCube to USB adapter that works well with Dolphin? I have a crap one; it doesn't recognize the d-pad (of all things) and also doesn't recognize the analog nature of the L and R buttons (and hence can't emulate the CLICK feature).

Just get an Xbox 360 adapter for the PC. I find it to work really well with Dolphin, pretty much all emulators.

Started Xenoblade yesterday and I'm about 5 hours in. Not quite sure what to think yet.

Man...
75 hours into Xenoblade...
Still haven't beat it.
But, I'm close.
The final boss kicked my ass and now I need to level up more.
I'm already at really high levels, though.
Levels this high would be overkill in most other RPGs.

I'm about 8 hours in and I've yet to understand what the fuss is all about. It's been decent thus far, but nothing I've played has justified the any of the outlandish claims made by the reviews. I can go into more details when I'm at home.

The thing is, I don't think it has that stiff of competition. Strictly speaking, I think my favorite JRPG of this console generation was Lost Odyssey (and I didn't even end up finishing that). I think it's been getting the "best" title more because of the lack of quality from its competitors. Still, I'd like to get a Wii and play it.

Maybe it's just really good... for a Wii game.

I've enjoyed what I've seen of it thus far, but I really do think it's because of the severe drought of JRPGs this generation. I mean, there's what? Blue Dragon (lol), Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, Eternal Sonata, Star Ocean (kinda), Tales of Graces f, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2, and Xenoblade. I'm sure there's a little more than that, but not much. If I tried to name off/count the number of JRPGs of last generation, I'd be stumped--the PS2 must've had over 100 of those alone. This generation just doesn't know how to make JRPGs--either they're Japan-exclusive, or they run on Unreal Engine and aren't amazing.

Alright, now I'm finished Xenoblade.
Took over 80 hours and I was at level 82.

Maybe I'm in a different position than most of you; I haven't played many (if any at all) of the RPGs made in the last decade.
What's more, I wasn't really all that excited for Xenoblade when it was first announced.
So I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this game.
Since I only have RPGs made in the 80s and 90s to compare it to, does that reflect on this game's caliber, or does that show that I've missed a lot of good games made in recent years?

You aren't missing much, but there are some gems. Persona 3 is worth playing.

I think the lesson to learn here is that an RPG fanboy is the worst kind of fanboy.

That's not directed at anybody in this thread, btw.

i cross'd a barrier into SCOOPvilLe yesterday and dunked with the best jammers and fresh dip ballers roundabout through an awesome bomb dunk party.
