Has anyone done that 16/8 method of eating? It involves skipping breakfast and basically only eating within an 8 hour time period. My sister started doing it and is trying to get me to try it now that i am getting back into being a gym rat. I hate going to "health" websites to figure out info on shit cause most are just glorified blogs probably written by lizard people

You'll never get me to do it, but I feel like I know plenty of folks who skip breakfast on the regular already anyway.

i've done it and it went really well until i fell off.

its more than just skipping breakfast, because you have to ensure you have no caloric intake outside the 8 hour window, so it takes careful monitoring & planning.

i am planning to get back to it after i move & get settled.

one drawback is that it can get really tedious to get in all your protein & calories if you're counting them. def requires protein shakes to round everything out.

It works. I’ve done it for extended amounts of time, your stomach adjusts. There’s a variety of health benefits to that sort of fasting. It’s definitely worth a try.

All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.

Nice. Today is my first day and right at noon i just fucked up a bunch of nuts and drank a protein shake then went straight to the gym to get my muscle dick hard. I decided i fucking hate working out after work so i got rid of my climbing membership and started going to the gym next to my work during lunch. I feel so much better lifting at noon then at 7 pm when I'm exhausted and grumpy

I am incredibly envious of your work flexibility.  But yeah, I've had friends try the 16/8 thing with good results.  I've dabbled with it along with keto and such, but I'm pretty much at my target weight right now, except wanting to put on more muscle, so I haven't been prioritizing diet systems that focus on weight loss.

I tried the intermittent fasting thing for about three weeks and I was miserable.

SO high.

But yeah, this was like 7 years ago when I was really losing weight. It turns out you can lose weight with just diet/lifestyle change/portion control and exercise without doing any sort of special, fancy, diet from a blog or magazine. Who would've thought? It's not the sexiest thing and when I would tell people who asked me what I did, they seemed disappointed it wasn't a fad diet they could bandwagon.

I’ve lost so much weight since getting hit by that car, I’m down about 35lbs to 201, very close to where I would like to be ideally, I just didn’t want to get here like this.

I’m finally getting referred to a specialist to see if there is something wrong with my internal eating parts, Or however the doctor elegantly put it

I ran a 15k, finishing in a about an hour and a half. It was the longest distance I've yet run and I had trained for it for about 6 months. Now that it's behind me, I'm finding myself searching for another goal. Maybe a half marathon?

It's really weird for me, but maybe that's a good thing.

I just signed up for a half-marathon in August. The longest I've ever run is 7 miles and this will be close to double :|

Excited but nervous I won't be ready. I have a program worked out (4 days a week, including one increasingly long run) I just hope our Summer isn't as disgusting as last year with day after day of lingering forest fire smoke.

I can do a 52 min 10k right now (8:30 pace or so) so I think my target pace for the half will be around 9:30 (a little over two hours total)?

Any advice? I should be ready in 13ish weeks, right? Having a deadline will help with motivation, I think.
