Just finished The Shadow Line, a British detective mystery/crime story.

It is probably the most complex show I've ever watched in that every last character wants something just a little different. Fair warning, it's not a feel-good show in the least. Quite the opposite, in ways you don't expect TV to ever go.

I love Norm Macdonald but man Adam Eget can still suck all the air out of the room in a heartbeat.

I can relate, maybe that's why I don't mind him

It's apparently divisive among the fans, but the end of It's Always Sunny's season finale was a masterpiece.

Checked out the She-Ra reboot on Netflix because of the hype/discussion I've seen -- it's not my thing, probably since I'm 20 years older than the target audience   :P

I do like the intro music, transformation sequence, and character designs though.  I only watched 4-5 episodes so IDK if it picks up later.

I'm going to watch it later in the month when I have bandwidth to use. Even if it isn't my thing, I want to support it in some way.

I'm also watching it because Mr. Weener wants to. It's not very good. I like the art and the character design, but the plot is boring and predictable, and there's nothing that passes for a joke.

To compare it to two other cartoons I watch that are also aimed at 7-year olds, My Little Pony makes me laugh out loud with its humor and comedic timing, and Adventure Time has me on the edge of my seat with its dramatic twists and turns (and it has great jokes and sight gags). She-Ra has none of those things.

I read several issues of Noelle Stevenson's (who is in charge of this version of She-ra) comic book Lumberjanes, and this show had the same problem Lumberjanes did. There's nothing to it. There's no compelling story, just a bunch of supposedly cool one-dimensional characters, platitudes about friendship, and half-assed action. As much as I wanted to love Lumberjanes and this show, it just doesn't make it. Which is disappointing considering I love stuff about women and queer characters and think there should be way more of it.

Neither amazon nor Netflix will sell me Venture Bros season 7 because I am Canadian.

Started watching The Rookie. It seems fine and I always like Fillion.
But it's a little weird to watch a somewhat lighthearted cop show right now.

I also started watching The Rookie and agree it seems fine for network tv. My biggest gripe is the pacing. My god, crazy shit and calls over the radio are happening every minute and I feel like the audience isn't given a chance to breathe until the very end of each episode. I'll probably keep watching it though. My wife's tastes in the arts is a littler narrower than mine, so there is a select few shows we watch together, The Rookie being one of them.

Big Mouth is killing me with how funny it is. I know it's rated MA and is very graphic, but I hope kids are sneaking it when their parents aren't home because it's very educational. Come for the jokes about weiners and boners, stay for the lessons on sexuality and consent.

^ Strongly agreed.

Personally, I'm looking forward to Neo Yokio season 2 next month. The first season is one of the best anime shows of all time.

Yeah, I initially wrote off Big Mouth because of how ugly it looks, but when I found out who all is part of it, I gave it a shot and it's pretty great!
