I remember Earthworm Jim 2 using Moonlight Sonata for the cave salamander level, and the original had a part of Night on Bald Mountain in What the Heck. I think they used more stuff than that as well, but I can't remember right now.

Wizwars, about the bush hogging. Just wet and part my man. Give that bush the Moses treatment and head for the Promised Land.

Whaaaaaaaaat.

Bucky I'm not recognizing the tracks from FF 2 and 4 (you meant FF4 SPC right?)

I think he meant the FF3 NSF.

All I gotta say is Loom for the PC. The whole soundtrack is pretty much Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake".

Crash 'n the Boys Street Challenge track 6 is the same as an Adventure Island song!!! What does it all mean?

Bucky I'm not recognizing the tracks from FF 2 and 4 (you meant FF4 SPC right?)

I've heard from a few people that Dragon Warrior uses classical songs. Does anyone know the composer or title?

Whoops, crucial typo! Paragon picked up on it though.
I meant ff3 not ff4.

So that's ff3, track 29 on the nsf. The dance jingle.

The one from ff2 (nsf track 24), although very short, is the same melody to the opening credits of The Mummy movie. The one from the 1930s, I think. I'm going to go double check, this is just from memory. I know when I played the game I totally recognized it though. I believe it is from some classical piece, although I have no clue on the composer nor name.

Edit: It is called Temptation of the Princess on the Dawn of Souls soundtrack. It goes a lot further than the NES version, although I have no clue if it is true to the original.

Here is an mp3 of the gba version:
http://download.yous...C5E26BD3B25E886

And yes, it is the same music that The Mummy used. From the imdb forum-

It's from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake

Sweet! :)

Pingo, what was that weird puzzle game for NES that had one of the Bach Inventions for one of the tracks? We were trying to figure out what piece it was about 6 months ago.

EWJ2 uses Moonlight Sonata on the "Villi People" stage, if I remember correctly. [Edit - beaten to the punch! Good call, folks.]

My favourite one is probably Gokujou Parodius' version of Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries (which is blended with the Moai stage theme from Gofer's Ambition).

I'd use the sound tests on the Saturn ports to list all of the Parodius stuff, but I'm a lazy cunt. It's best when they're mixed with classic Gradius themes. :D

Since Star-Spangled Banner has been listed, Rush N' Attack Track 20 is a brief snippet from it.

Also, I believe FF4 DOES use a bit of the Sabre Dance. In one of the early towns, when you talk to the dancer who goes into the water.

That song when you're in the save room in Soul Blazer is heavily influenced by Bach's Toccata in D minor. It has the same beginning and then continue with the same vibe on the organ.

It also uses a classical song in the last level "Run Jim Run"

Shit, yeah. Damn, what's that one called again?

The level where you bounce puppies on a marshmallow uses a pretty famous tune, too. I'm sure I heard it in the Godfather once... :P
