i hope you didn't firmware update.

Doesn't that allow one to hack and pirate and whatever?

Back to games: Silent Hill Origins. omg omg omg

why the hell does the main character look like something out of big buck hunter or something? way to kill a mood.

Every character has his or her history and while the man looks somewhat of a hick at least he'll prove to be physically strong. Plus, every person has his or her reason to visit Silent Hill to begin with, so I'm fine with anyone the Silent Hill team throws in as the main character because that character has a reason to be there, simply put.

I do agree that the character doesn't remind me of someone who would belong in Silent Hill, though. ;)

don't defend it, it's lame. just say it.

I had a DS but sort of wanted a PSP. I liked the fact that it could do movies and run emulators, but then I got an M3 for my GBA and a pass cart for my DS, so I can do both of those with my Nintendo systems. There were a couple games that interested me, like Ultimate Ghosts N Goblins, but not enough to warrant buying it. PSPfalz

About Final Fantasy remake: Why bother? Adding PSP-quality graphics while remaining 2D does nothing for the gameplay except boost your expectations for the game itself. I feel bad for the kids who haven't played FF1 yet who don't know what they're getting into. "What's this? All these graphics and the game is still boring. Too much walking, I quit." Add the fact that you're probably going to deal with loading times for every random encounter in the game means PSP still fails. Go play Dawn of Souls for GBA instead, the graphics update is great for that one, and they added a bunch of optional junk.

So, I just bought a PSP Slim, made my own Pandora's Battery Slim (that thing was so small) and have 3.90 M33-2 CFW. I'm currently playing Final Fantasy I (for the fifth time if you include the NES and GBA versions) and am doing an all White Mage file. This is much harder than my all Monk file! Plus, I'm finally getting to hear the music in better quality and experience huge, high quality sprites. Nonetheless, I'm having a blast and I like my PSP.

One thing I really like about the PSP is how you can use it like an iPod and watch videos on it (if you can get the dang files to work on it, that is. ;)). Putting music onto a portable "mp3 player" has never been so easy with the USB cable! It doesn't help that I have a 4GB Pro Duo.

Many thanks goes to Ryu for helping me install nearly everything over AIM. :D At least I figured out how to make the Pandora's Battery on my own, but I still had to ask some questions regarding that, so I still lose.

EDIT: Oh, and I wish I could run a GBA emulator on this thing. :( 3.90 M33-2 doesn't support 1.50 kernel...

Yea the whole video thing is kind of lame. I was on an upload binge back when I first got my Slim and was so frustrated over how my porn wouldn't play on it.
FF VII Crisis Core hits this week. I will ponder the possibility of a purchase...maybe in a couple months or so.

Crisis Core is pretty solid if not a little bit repetitive.

Spoiler
and it hits every G-spot that FF7 fanboys have! Seriously, I get the chills
Spoiler
! Not to mention Crisis Core's music is absolutely fantastic and continuously hits the spot corresponding to the appreciation of FF7 music.

It's totally worth buying. At least give it a rent sometime. :)

matsunami: Have you gotten a new PSP lately? If I'm not mistaken, you said you flushed it down the pooper... my condolences. :(

The music is really awesome. That and the production value of the game makes you yearn for that FF7 remake.

I went out and bought a slim right away (I had a phat) so it worked out for the best. There might be hope for the shitty one. I'm going to let it dry out and see if it works, then sell it on ebay. The thought of someone playing a PSP with my poop in it makes me giggle maniacally.

God of war is great.
For such a detailed game, the lack of loadtimes is really really impressive.
