They've put up some patch notes/design philosophy stuff on the site, touches a bit on their approach to difficulty in Inferno:

http://us.battle.net...-5_28_2012#blog

Basically, sounds like they don't like the 'spikiness' of damage (getting one-shot). They want it to be more of a constant drain that you have to be clever offensively/geared up properly to mitigate.

Wizwars, about the bush hogging. Just wet and part my man. Give that bush the Moses treatment and head for the Promised Land.

Whaaaaaaaaat.

Someone mentioned hoarding gold waiting for prices to come down. Actually, I think when the real money AH opens, the value of gold will drop significantly since real money will out-compete gold from the seller's perspective. It may be cut in half or worse quite easily. The value may also decrease in anticipation of the real money auction house opening. People may stop listing their best items on the AH and with fewer goods to buy, prices should go way up. Rather than hoarding gold, we should probably be hoarding items. The only thing that can prop up the value of gold is if it can be used to generate good items in game (i.e. they fix the blacksmith mechanics).

Haha, anyone else run into the "Development Hell" level? It's a random crypt in the Act 1 Cemetery of the Forsaken. (at least, in Nightmare) All the zombies are named after the developers and the Unique Boss is the game director.

Got a chuckle out of me.

I got my second legendary since hitting level 60. Nephalem's Valor is responsible. When you hit level 60, you are eligible to gain a "buff" called Nephalem's Valor. It appears next to your health with other buffs. It goes up by 1 for each boss pack you kill (blue or yellow only; not purple or story bosses) and maxes out at 5. It lasts 30 minutes but the timer goes back to 30 each time you kill an eligible boss pack. It goes away if you leave the game or leave the act you're in. It also goes away if you change your skills up. The buff simply ups your magic and gold find by 15% per level. With it maxed out and a topaz in my helm I've got around +95% to MF and now rares drop everywhere and Act bosses drop like they did in Diablo 2 or better. I suppose it must get even better with more MF on your gear.

It seems the bosses drop clusters of items but with no MF each "cluster" usually consists of one or two magic items and some gold/gems. With the NV buff, the hell mode act I boss dropped 4 clusters each with a rare and several magic items plus one legendary set of pants (which I promptly sold at the AH). The total loot was like 1 legendary, 4 yellows, 10-12 blues plus gold/gems. I hate level 60 in Act III Hell, so it's not too hard to get there.

Haven't seen that one. There are a lot of random dungeons though. They just copy graphics from the real dungeons of course, but sometimes they still manage to have a unique and interesting atmosphere by way of the layout or unusual monster selection. I'm trying to stop and check out more of them.

+1

Valor is fucking awesome. I hit 60 yesterday, and with 5 charges I'm up to 160 mf, and it's a huge deal. I have literally had zero rare drops on quest drops from boss fights. I cleared some of hell with Ashane last night and each one dropped 2-3 rares. I still have some issues with my gear, and shit isn't getting cheaper, but I'm slowly upgrading and soling hell at least is very manageable. Good luck to everyone out there. I'm gonna be around the rest of the evening before heading out for the weekend. Totally down for running hell with peeps looking for resplendent chests and champ packs.

I hit the Inferno Act 2 wall pretty hard during the weekend and as such I've been taking a little break from playing. Nephalem Valor is helpful, but I wish that it wasn't completely erased by changing up skill sets. What's the point of creating a system that allows for millions of possible skill / rune / passive combinations only to punish players at max level for wanting to try other things? I understand that they don't want people changing skills to deal with the different challenges that varying affix champions monster packs bring; however, it feels absurd to be encouraged to change skills from 1-59 and then be punished at level 60 for wanting to get the same simple enjoyment. From what I've seen of Inferno so far it doesn't feel like being able to change skills would compromise the difficulty. Perhaps that's different for the classes I haven't played but it seems highly unlikely.

DH, I'm always down to game. Running back through the thread to start adding shizzies.

and if shit goes sour... girls may come and go, but i'll always have pokemon......

Well, I just made it to Inferno and it's as rough as expected. I'm not where close to being geared properly for it. Guess I just need to farm hell a bunch for gold and see what I can do. Gamer tag is Warsong#1979 SenJ, would love to slay demons with you again.

If anyone has any wizard gear that is around 34+ (int/vit/sockets) that they dont want then let me know, I could use it.

Same for monk gear 42+ (Dex/Vit/Sockets)

Let me know if you need anything for your alts and I'll keep my eyes open.

I'm only up to act 2 on nightmare.
Still haven't touched the AH, been doing just peachy with mostly my own drops. Got a couple handouts from a friend though. Nothing huge, and I expect to grow out of them soon.

Good luck man. I certainly appreciate a more purist attempt, but it's gonna get hard pretty quick. The good news is, if you aren't spending cash now, then you'll have a decent amount saved up if you do have to use the AH.

I helped Ashane finish hell tonight. I'm pretty pleased with my stats so far, I need a good weapon and I'd like to have a bigger health pool, but my res is sitting around 250 in inferno, and my mf is up to 110 without NV buff active. Still not sure where in hell is the best place to farm, I would imagine act 4 just for better mods and ilvls on drops (theoretically). In any case, it will have to wait until Sunday. Going out of town for the weekend, but it's been great to see so many shizzies and even OCR duders playing. It's rare that I sign on and can't find someone to play with.

Well, I got cleaned out it looks like. I logged on this morning and all my gold was gone and a few pieces of amror were dunzo. At least I suppose it was hacked, they didn't take everything, which I thought was weird. I mean, I know I didn't have godly shit, but why take like my boots chest armor, and helm but nothing else? Sucks tho, had just bought a nice piece of chest armor, and lost 600k gold. God damn I hate thieves. So much.

Yea, I was going with the "no auction house" run in Nightmare. Then I got to the second half of Act IV. I ran to the auction house after the slaughter fest I kept walking into.

these hilary clinton-looking women must be pressing their buttholes right up against the sides of the stall and letting it rip.

What :(

Call blizzard and consider asking for an account rollback. However, I think they roll it back 2 days, so depending on when you ask and when they roll it back to it may or may not be worth it.

Were you using an authenticator or the mobile authenticator app? http://us.battle.net...thenticator-faq

I'm kinda hoping I get hacked soon so I can use it as an excuse to quite playing. I really need to get back to the real world.

I did contact them for a roll back, but I didn't know how far they went back. Regardless, I suppose it's ok either way. Not a huge deal if I have to redo some stuff. No, I wasn't using an authenticator, but I am now for sure. Just downloaded it to my phone. Got it set for authentication every time I log in now. I don't know why I didn't use this before, pretty stupid. So it looks like when I get back in town on Sunday I will have to restart some stuff. Real bogus, had some real nice boots and chest armor too.
