Holy magikarp, Mdream! You have a Black Lotus?! Alpha, Beta, or Unlimited? Pretty awesome!

The coolest card I have is a signed Lord of the Pit.

It's in Unlimited unfortunately but it's still the best prize I've won in my life. I got a couple of other goodies too. I have an Ali From Cairo, Mirror Universe, a Plow Under signed by artist Edward Beard and a Time Vault. I used to have 4x Berzerks but I traded them to a friend of mine who became top ranked in my province.

As for the artworks, my favourite one is Hellfire (legends) which I own also.

I'm a big fan of Richard-Kane Fergusson's artwork.

RKF did great work! I have a giant-sized Pillage artwork laying around somewhere... And maybe a Dakkon Blackblade? I'll have to look.

i cross'd a barrier into SCOOPvilLe yesterday and dunked with the best jammers and fresh dip ballers roundabout through an awesome bomb dunk party.

Oh man, a giant-sized Dakkon Blackblade? That's so awesome! It was definately one of the hotest cards among my circle of friends when I was a kid :P

I have that one two card creature from unglued that's like 100/100 or something, with flying and trample.

Jer lets MTG it up. I will destroy you. I have decks named after planets in the Warhammer 40k universe, that's how nerdy I am.

Get ready!

I usually play black/blue.

I just found a foil Lord of the Pit on the streets of L.A.!! It has a bunch of indents from gravel and rocks stuck in it, which makes it look even cooler haha!!

Loved MtG from 4th grade ~ 9th grade, played some every summer until age 20. I'm betting I'll have some fun playing a lot of it if/when I can retire.

I have maybe 2000 cards (huge waste of youth money), my favorite was always Dakkon Blackblade, me and Leonidus have about 5 of him.

My favorite artists are Paolo Parente, Brom, Richard Kane Ferguson, Mark Tedin, Ron Spears, Kev Walker, Rk Post, Ron Spencer, Wayne England, John Avon, and Justin Sweet.

Some Dakkon variations of the wallpaper released long ago:

Heh .. my latest obsession/addiction.

I played some around 3rd & 4th ed. after a kinda-friend got me and some of my friends into it. I amassed a pretty good collection, but then my Magic-playing friends were all scattered to the four winds, and I lost interest, especially after the disappointment of The Dark, Fallen Empires, and Ice Age. :(

Then I became a born-again Christian and became convinced that stuff like wizardry and sorcery and occultish imagery were Satanic/demonic strongholds, and the proper thing to do was to get rid of them. So I tossed the whole lot of it. Dual lands and all. :(

Then a few months ago I found one of my old decks, a green mana-ramp deck featuring lots of mana-generating elves and enchantments, and lots of big fat green guys, and I became curious. I did some research and quickly became very interested again. I took the plunge, and now I'm totally into it. I'm a regular at Friday Night Magic (and other in-store thingies), I keep up to date on the latest trends(I've got 2 Lotus Cobras, and I'd love to get 2 more), and I'm trying to become more competitive. It's a LOT of fun and gets me totally excited and worked up. It totally clicks with so many different parts of my brain... gaming, creativity, collecting, social interaction ...

I spend a lot of time thinking about deck-building strategies. I'm about ready to retire my Devour deck, built around Dragon Broodmotherand Mycoloth. It was hella fun, but not very competitive. Aggressive strategies (currently Vampires is in vogue) destroy me. I'm thinking of building a green mana-ramp deck or a green/blue deck of some kind.

Yeah ... I recognize that all this makes me a MAJOR FUCKING GEEK, and so be it.

Yay for fun decks!

I had a Naya junk deck that randomly did OK, but my favorite deck this past group was a way to actually use THIS shitty card constructively.

Mirror of Fate

I used this EQUALLY shitty card and they somehow won me a game:

Stomping Slabs

I was first to use the infernal thing and got big props.

I'm a big fan of Richard-Kane Fergusson's artwork.

RKF is the fucking man! He drew one blue interrupt (Flux or something like that) that looked brilliant, and I think he did one of the arts for "Pillage". Very distinct and chaotic style. Also a huge fan of Ron Spencer, Christopher Rush, and Phil foglio.

I have like 1200 cards, a few rares. Birds of paradise, fork lighting, sol ring and what have ya. I still have a kickass animate deck with a boatload of vampires and other beefy black creatures. Also looks like i have a charizard in here....

</nerd>

Oh, and while I'm at it does anyone else use Lackey or another prog for playing MTG online?

I almost always use(d) green/white or green/red decks. I too love using beefy characters. One of my last decks had some awesome mid-to-high damage creatures like wurms and angels plus 3 Armadillo Cloaks. But after a while the newest cards were making decks like this kind of obsolete and it's part of the reason I stopped playing (money and the new abilities being the other). I really miss the days when a 3/3 creature with no additional abilities was a pretty decent creature to have and a lavaburst was some awesome shit.

I also made a red quickie deck that was all goblins and stuff like lava bursts and goblin grenades. If I got lucky I could win in 4 turns just with goblin grenades.
