Jin-Roh is beautiful. The animation is incredible. The story is a little touching but very tragic. Not the action-packed anime you're probably expecting; it's very quiet and full of exposition.

Other good anime:

Area 88
Macross: Do You Remember Love
Super Dimensional Fortress Macross (TV series) or Robotech: The Macross Saga
Robotech: Southern Cross/The Robotech Masters
Genesis Climber Mospeada or Robotech: The New Generation
Star Blazers: Quest for Iscandar
Captain Harlock
Wicked City
Ninja Scroll
Cowboy Bebop
Metropolis
Escaflown the Movie
Vampire Hunter D
Lupin the Third

There's a lot more but those're some of the best.

I've yet to see Goldenboy. Is it really good?

everyone already suggested what I would have said. 'cept Transformers: The Movie, if that counts.

I didn't like either X or Metropolis

Anyone have the Ninja Scroll SE dvd? Just wondering if they redid the engish dub.

Over the past 6 months I watched almost all of Full Metal Panic. Bleh, I don't know why I persisted.

And then there was my time-wasting with Love Hina...gah

Bebop reigns supreme on all counts...it has the best soundtrack I have ever heard for any anime, the characters are very colorful and varied, and it has all sorts of elements within it, from slapstick to tragic. Very well done. I wasn't that impressed with the movie, however, but it was decent.

Neon Genesis Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop are the greatest, and their music is rad, too.

Memories is also good, it's a mindfuck.
