I'd take Snapple's satirical pestering over your tired ass trolling ANY DAY.

I guess we'll agree to disagree. I think it's some sort of sub-genre of metal. Proggy? Sure. Post-rock? I don't hear it. Or maybe I don't know wtf that actually is. Is post-rock hella technical?

It's just too heavy, at times imo. Lots of locked in double kick + downtuned guitar flourishes and super fat bass. Extremely technical performances. It strikes me as Symphony X but instrumental, way more playful, way more self-aware, with jazzy elements.... and more fun to listen to than Symphony X... but still in the admittedly huge, overarching realm of what can be called metal today. It's possible for metal to be played in major keys.

Yeah, Plini is dope, I guess I just don't understand the distinction between 'proggy instrumental metal' and "post-rock". Why is rock in the title? Cause there isn't screams/death vocals/falsetto? Because it is able to embrace a happier tone? I don't get why this genre label exists.

Is it like today's "R&B" which has none of the B(lues) and sounds absolutely nothing like R&B of yore? Kinda like how when I hear so-called 'thrash metal' of the last 10 years it sounds little-to-nothing like '80s thrash? What happened there?

That's awesome.

Arch Echo strikes me as more 'music for musicians' than Plini, but I like 'em both.

I still prefer Sound Struggle over Arch Echo (feelsbadman), but I'm happy for the dudes since they are indeed very good.

Arch Echo doesn't appear in Metal Archives therefore it's not metal.

Nah, it's totally fine here and can fit in the other thread too. Good stuff!
