I've heard that the exp org bug was fixed but we'll see.

One new bug I've noticed is that your vertical reach client-side seems to be longer than the server-side interpretation, so if you knock out a block just at the end of your reach above or below, it'll disappear without giving you a block, and then reappear in a couple seconds.

Ok I updated. Found a place too.

Read here:

ATTENTION ALL SHIZZ MINECRAFTERS
Apparently it was totally possible for me to replace the .jar file for the minecraft server, simply by uploading over the existing one.

Therefore, I have upgraded the server to 1.9 pre-release 5 and started a new Survival Horror world.

We have to manually update to the 1.9 pre-release 5. I don't know how to do that yet, but I'm sure it's pretty simple--I imagine you just make a backup of minecraft.jar, and then replace it with the 1.9 minecraft.jar.

Yep, it's that simple.

There is an Enderman in the dwarven part of the base. I'm going to light it up just a little bit more to reduce the chances of that happening again.

EDIT: Killed my first Enderman, got a pearl, and have lit up the dwarven area.

Seems pretty quiet in the server, probably due to Dark Souls and Skyrim. I started building something along the coast, it'll have a lot more in time. I'm really laggy while playing tho :\ It was a large pain when I first started out... I was lucky to kill anything due to it and died a lot.

I found a little boat outside today, so I guess someone came by.

I am also experiencing an unusual amount of lag - and it appears to be server-side. I will hack at blocks, but they'll just come back. It takes me two or three times to destroy any block. Monsters essentially move at .5 frames per second because of how they just pause and suddenly end up right next to me (always resulting in my death with creepers). ZachariahSmith was also saying that there is bad lag like this. :/

Yeah, I've been seeing that since we switched to the survival mode. I don't think it's getting any better or worse, but I'll restart the server and see if that clears anything up.

XMark,

Spiders aren't dying from the falls at the dwarven hallway. That's three times I've sent them, sitting inside of the hole, where they are supposed to be dead but aren't. I've seen no other enemies survive the drop except for spiders, and I have yet to see any string being dropped either, so I'm guessing that no spiders have yet to die from the fall.

Lag seems to be better now.

I found Zachariah's little island, it's a nice place. Just a tiny boat trip from where I'm setting up too.

I also made a map, but it got blown up in the nether

From all I saw, it's mostly forest and desert with a little swamp biome and then a grassy plains biome. Nothing major to write home about.

I've seen string dropped a few times. I guess the problem is that sometimes the spiders use their wall-climbing ability halfway through their fall.
