i've never heard of them til this year's magfest.

i've only heard about that they are a band with concept albums, and i've got a thing for concept albums (example; The Dear Hunter, "Phantom in the Horizon" by Fall of Troy, Coheed and Cambria, 2112)

i saw their tail end of their friday night show and i kinda liked some of their stuff (sleeveless Journey cover didn't count but i still loved it.)

can you guys recommend some stuff? i know there's some haterade going around for them but some of you like them, so i'm just wondering...

they're good, the first album isn't my thing, the 2nd one is kind of awesome.

this song is chock full of 80s pump up music goodness

this song is just kind of epic full of western showdown awesomeness

I thought their live show for the first album was stronger than the second act. Their encore was way too big for both shows though. I think their showmanship really shined during MAGFest despite their fans being a bunch of n00blets. I have to say seeing both act 1 and 2 live was a definite highlight for me at MAGfest. I hope this thread doesn't turn into a hate thread, there's just so much to love.

i agree, they had pretty decent showmanship and stage presence, some of their fans were kind noobly. but they had a good turn out, hope this doesnt turn into a hate thread either. i hated that their encores took forever, i remember specifically one Mr. Shawnphase being upset that they were takign forever and not letting TSS play. i remember sitting on his balcony having a smoke with him and just going "damn, they are fucking loud." but still.

They're good dudes too, after the Metroid Metal set I think I had a geek out session for about an hour with one of them about Vince Dicola.

I'm a fan. There were a couple of 'meh' songs on the first record, but for the most part I love it. I'd love it if it wasn't mega man-themed. And the new album is great from start to finish. I saw them for the first time at 16 bit gen, and they blew me away with their huge sound, performance, and Iron Maiden covers. Plus they're all nice dudes.

FYI, although it's not necessary to enjoy the music, you really don't get the full story of either albums unless you read the liner notes along with listening to the albums. The song lyrics really only give you half of what's going on.

poor joe.

Me, Djinn and Gravy played NBA Jam with one so they're OK in my book.

I had fun during the show, but I don't think I'd ever listen to their albums. Me, Gravy Boat and Moldilox played four games of NBA Jams with the one guitar player who came out on Friday night in the Freddy Mercury spandex getup and did the Queen cover with them (at least I think that was a Queen song). He sucked it up on defense, but was still a fun guy to play with. ;)

EDIT: beat me to it!

I'm loving this 80s music, but I can't tell if these are remixes or not.

Please tell me these are remixes.
