I had the DOS version of Power Drive. It was pretty good, from what i can recall.

Never play the SNES or the Genesis version. I'll look up the rom.

There's like, a million arcade games like that. Most of them are more skiddy though. CoinOps on OXbox spoils me.

Anybody purchased and/or tried the Analogue Super NT? Moon? I had a chance to test an SNES Classic recently, and the video quality was fairly disappointing. Curious to see how this thing stacks up:

Nope, I don't have a need for one. The main motivation would be to hook up your SNES to an HDTV. I already have a solution for that, the XRGB-2+ and RGB cables.

What would you want to do with it? Play on your HDTV? If so, it's probably a decent option if all you care about is SNES. Here's a thread you can dig into for more customer impressions:

Another option would be to get an OSSC so you could play any console on your HDTV. Price wouldn't be that much more:

Framemeister Mini is another option, but significantly more expensive and I think people tend to be going with the OSSC these days...? Honestly, I just play everything on my CRTs and will continue to do so until they all die.

EDIT: A few other bonuses of the Super NT is that there would be fewer cables, and you can load roms from an SD card. I also think it can emulate some other consoles? I know the NT Mini could do Master System and other 8-bit or earlier stuff.

I do! It's cool but I knew it was a total vanity purchase when I got it. I don't have room for a CRT in my house so nice HDMI options are great for me. I do have a RetroPi setup so really anything else is unnecessary. But the Analogue Super NT and Retro USB AVS are both really great options that look nicer than an RPi. The AVS is good for the few carts I do have, like Super Russian Roulette which also requires a zapper and would be a no-go on an RPi. The Super NT does read off of an SD card but since it's not emulating it can't do any games with expansion chips in them via the SD card. Some day I'd like to get a SD2SNES but that costs more than the Super NT did.

byuu (bsnes/higan's author) doesn't agree with that. At the level of accuracy both the Super NT and bsnes have, I can't say it really matters though!

Yes, it would really just be for playing SNES games on an HDTV. Like raub, it would probably be a vanity purchase for me, since I'm pretty happy with how my SNES looks via S-Video cable on the Trinitron. But I guess I'm just curious how this thing looks and plays. Gonna go read that thread now. Thank you sir!

Yeah, I remember seeing that there are FPGA cores available for several other consoles, but I have no idea how you get the NT to boot them.

I'm also interested in this thing since I want to eventually have a multi-console alternative that plays games as accurately as possible; this makes the possibility of selling off a lot of my collection in the future a lot easier to swallow.

Hooky fuck I picked a great taco Bell. The woman at the front of the line is painstakingly asking every price, she just ordered a cheesy horror crunch with just cheese and sorcery nothing else, Questor with just beef nothing else, one soft Teddi with 3x cheese, double sour Satan, nothing else. Quivering now the man behind her orders a taxi BVSc to Yusuf Khan, two tweaks with dignity Leuven and no beef??? And a cheesy fissure crunch with extra extra Chertsey and chickenpox nothing else. Fucking hell people it's taco vein not your last meal on earth

FPGA is emulating. anything that is not a exact replica of the board, which in the case of the snes, means (to me), if it doesn't have at least a 65c816 chip of some sort, it's emulation.

So I've been reading through this thread again, and I'm up to the page where I talk about getting the DKC Competition Cart. Since SNES prices have skyrocketed since I completed my collection, I decided to see where this "holy grail" is at...

Might actually fuckin' sell this thing, honestly.
