I was in the woods when I saw some imperial guards leading away a stormhaven (stormsomething or other) prisoner. I decided to kill the guards.

Not if there's no one around to see it. Those situations tend to take place in the wild, along the road.

I've done that 3 times so far and I'm fine (take a guess which side I am on in the Stormcloak / Imperial struggle.)

I have actually not decided on which side I land on. I am a rogue-like character, so I'll chose the side that will pay me more.

Yeah, I've just never liked the Empire in any of the TES games I've played (all since Morrowind.).

Haha, havent met the talking dog yet. And while 5,000 does sound like a lot, you can actually get that pretty quickly by just exploring, looting bodies and selling off unwanted equipment. You could probably have that much in an hour or so.

In fact, one time I was about to free someone from an interrogation by imperials (she was really distraught and confused), when all of a sudden this dude from out of nowhere comes running up the hill after me. I was about to pounce on him when he started talking to me instead of attacking me like I thought he was about to do. He made me take a weapon that he was holding. Something stolen perhaps? Anyways, he threatened to kill me if I didn't take it and not tell anyone, so I did, but when that little exchange was over, the imperials and the girl they were about to take into custody had already disappeared.

This game is a trip.

Yeah uhm I was under the impression that we were in a WAR. When I see a Stormcloak soldier, they are the enemy and I kill them.

I had this happen to me too, but he gave me an enchanted shield. Then a few minutes later a hunter came up to me asking if I had seen the first guy, and said he was a thief. I said no, and followed him for a minute then he saw the thief and killed him, so I got to keep the shield haha.

I remember eyerolling when that fugitive came up to me, hahaha. Then the hunter came along and asked me about his missing shield. I was like, "yeah man, right here" and gave it back. Then I walked over to the fugitive and killed him.

Oh yeah! That happened to me too afterward! Except I gave him the sword that the other dude gave me and I didn't wait around long enough to watch him kill the guy. The supposed thief was running away, but the guy going after him pulled out his bow, so he proceeded to move slowly and just kept shooting arrows in his general direction and missing him, haha. I lost sight of the thief as he was running away, so then I got bored of watching the other dude shoot his arrows at virtually nobody, so I took off in another direction.

Man I was wandering around with Lydia and went into a cave where the first mob almost one shot me, so I ran. I never saw Lydia again

About 4 hours later I was working my way through some ruins, killing bandits, when I stepped outside and a Dragon came down and torched the place. So there's me, the bandits, and the dragon all fighting eachother. The bandits are taking turns between shooting me and shooting the dragon. The dragon is torching everyone in sight. I finally manage to manuever my way down to a break in the wall of the ruins where I can heal when needed, because the dragon is just destroying me with every attack. I'm out of potions, almost dead, no mana, and every time I step out to attack, he torches me to death.

So I reload the last save from the moment I went back outdoors from the ruins, and here comes the dragon again. We repeat these steps several times. Everyone fights eachother, I run out of potions and mana and the dragon kills me.

About an hour later, I'm still trying to kill this thing when Lydia comes running out of nowhere and just murders the shit out of the dragon.

I don't remember what level I'm at right now, but before I went to bed this morning (lol) I BARELY managed to beat the Volskygge boss...who, incidentally, is well over level 30, so my Battle Cry didn't work when he was kicking my ass and I desperately needed some space. I used SO MANY POTIONS. And then I had to fight that fucking dude outside...But I learned the second word in the Whirlwind thing, so it was worth it.

I was reading this and laughed so hard I farted. Oh man, that's just brilliant!

Everyone, throw in your Lydia stories! I wish I had more before she died...I would frequently go running off and climb crags so the pathfinding AI would get all fucked but then I'd either fall off a cliff or end up going inside somewhere wherein she'd suddenly appear. I like that though, I don't wanna have to micromanage NPCs too. We

damn was the beast difficult, after a few reloads Lydia and I tag teamed the dragon but had to run off to a nearby dwemer ruin to seek shelter and 830529738587329 bandits all popped out, with the fight developing similar to what mrtame wrote. Thing is, Lydia went to town on the bandits while I fought the dragon,

and that actually worked out really well. I wish I had equipped her better, though.

Playing this game with some Agalloch or Amon Amarth playing REALLY makes the game though. I need to queue up some Death in Fire for my next dragon fight.

I gotta say, I am very pleased with this game. My doubts and fears have been, so far, for naught.
