About an hour later, I'm still trying to kill this thing when Lydia comes running out of nowhere and just murders the shit out of the dragon.

I was reading this and laughed so hard I farted. Oh man, that's just brilliant!

Everyone, throw in your Lydia stories! I wish I had more before she died...I would frequently go running off and climb crags so the pathfinding AI would get all fucked but then I'd either fall off a cliff or end up going inside somewhere wherein she'd suddenly appear. I like that though, I don't wanna have to micromanage NPCs too. We
Spoiler
at Shearpoint and
Spoiler
and that actually worked out really well. I wish I had equipped her better, though.

Playing this game with some Agalloch or Amon Amarth playing REALLY makes the game though. I need to queue up some Death in Fire for my next dragon fight.

I gotta say, I am very pleased with this game. My doubts and fears have been, so far, for naught.

oh hey, if I can afford a nice big house at some point I will be furnishing a room as my Skooma room. All are welcome, but BYOS.

Damn you Sherv. Maybe I'll have to get it now.

So here's my theory.

The Nords in Windhelm hate the Dark Elves. And they're the center of the Stormcloak rebellion.

The Nords...Nordic people, vikings, like northern europeans...

...they hate the "dark" elves.

And they're the "little guy" valiantly standing up against the evil empire.

Stormcloak?

Or storm...front?

Guys, Skyrim is just a front for the white nationalist conspiracy. Stop playing.

Yep, in order to know the effects of an ingredient and have the ability to mix it into a potion, you have to eat it first, yep, even though it can have an adverse effect.

Example: pick up mushrooms, eat the mushrooms (you are poisoned!) mushroom status effect = +X poison dmg per sec for X seconds.

go to alchemy table, mix mushrooms + other stuff to create a poison mix, then you can go to use the potion, and it will ask if you would like to apply the poison to the blade of the sword/weapon.

pretty awesome.

So I came up to these two sea lion-like creatures (they had 3 tusks instead of 2) and they looked peaceful enough. They got really excited when I was near and started dancing and playing with each other. All of a sudden, a damn snow wolf came and attacked me. They came to my rescue, tag-teaming that wolf to his demise. Then they turned on me...

BTW, has anyone done the "hangover" quest? It starts with you taking part in a drinking contest and then you wake up to find out you did a lot of weird, random stuff you don't remember. It was hilarious and a great comedic break in an otherwise mostly serious game.

these hilary clinton-looking women must be pressing their buttholes right up against the sides of the stall and letting it rip.

icing bag style.

balls, thats what my brother told me was the best way but i was hoping there was another way around it, especially for somethings i only have one of. BUT thank you for telling me how to put poison on weapons! it seems pretty simple, but i couldnt figure out how to combine on the menu and didnt want to 'use' and poison myself haha

For both of you and anyone, get to the greybeards as soon as you can, it's very important and level shouldn't matter.

I planned to play for about an hour last night, turned out to be 2.5. Oops. I'm finding gold is easy to come by, I just loot corpses and sell shit. I've got more than enough cash for a house now but I'm somewhere in the wilds, took down a giant which was fun, I need to get a mammoth tusks. Completed a bunch of misc quests, made some people happy and pissed others off.

Back in Winterrun I smoked some skooma, drank some mead and ale, and played a game of tag with some kids while trying to jump on their heads. To fuel my drunken rage of losing the game of tag (well, I never lost per se) I threw some goblets at trees and made friends with the local drunk, offloading all my remaining booze down his greedy gullet.

Saw two wolves fighting a sabre cat, jumped in and took em all out, got a text message, looked at it and then I died from a mudcrab :( That gave me an idea so I grinded (ground?) for a very short while with a herd of mudcrabs, they'd hit me and exercise my heavy armor stat while I would heal and exercise my restoration stat. Then I'd shoot arrows at em and get a few points in archery. I wonder if the practice dummies and targets would work for exercising stats...I'm pretty sure they don't. Anyway, just wanted to boost archery a bit, the perks look interesting.

I can't overstate how I'm enjoying this game much more than I ever expected. They really fixed my biggest problem with the leveling and so far the quests have been very entertaining.

Hmm, really? Does it help taking down those damn dragons? I'm level 27 and am having huge troubles taking them on.

Yes, you haven't done it yet? I put it off to about level 9 and was kicking myself for not doing it sooner.

I'd honestly say it's just as important as the standing stones at the beginning of the game, and should be done ASAP.

A friend of mine somehow managed to miss the standing stones in the beginning, lol.

Ha, I also missed the standing stones. The guy told me to split up...
I only did the main quest where you kill that original dragon and then went on my own to create adventures and memories to last a lifetime. I guess I'll go do the greybeard stuff asap.
