Old episodes of roseanne

I must get all over this.

Exit through the Giftshop, Cocaine Cowboys and The Pixar Story are the best I've seen recently.

I have all of those on my queue and I've yet to watch them. I really need to get my shit together.

Always looking for anything gang/drug related. Wish sooooo badly that they had Lockup Raw. I would watch that all day every day.

Just recently started in on Strangers With Candy. Meh so far.

Strongly recommend the Cult Episode (Blank Stare pt 1 and 2) and also the episode with "Flairs" (Price too high for riches). both season 2

TRAILER PARK BOYS sonnnnn

Man I really wish chelsea dug this show too. I've seen the entire (7?) seasons, and while the ending was kind of a let down the show on the whole is so f'n highlarious! f*ck community college, let's get drunk and eat chicken fingers.

I watched all of Dexter Season 1 within the last 2 days and I'm totally addicted!

I've seen the first two episodes but got side tracked. I'm sure there's plenty more goodness in store

It made me sad looking up a lot of shows people are mentioning and realizing they're not available in Canada :(

Been watching Dexter for the first time. Started monday and already done with the first season. I can't believe I waited this long to get into this show. I always end up talking about it with people after I watch an episode because it creates such interesting conflict/moral choices.

Oh and they're yanking seasons 1 and 2 at the beginning of July, so if you're in the middle of it I say get through it pronto!

Here's an interesting article about netflix's licensing agreements with studios and what's expected to change. We might be paying a little more in the near future.

Speaking of what's changing, I found this cool little site that lists everything that's coming and going in the next month or so. Very handy.

On topic: Currently watching Archer, Sons of Anarchy, and a shitload of documentaries...Waste Land is great!

The article implies it might cost us an extra $4/month or so in the future...I'd live with it.

Yeah if that's all it is I wouldn't really care much. The only thing is that they said Netflix were paying about 1/20th of normal licensing fees to some studios. I don't think we're going to pay 20x our normal bill, but I also don't see how increasing our rate from 8 to $12 would offset the costs if they had to pay the standard.

I'll admit I don't really know much about how all of this works.

It all depends on how many subscribers they have...and they have a lot. And there will be a limit they can raise to before they drive too many of those subscribers off.

Netflix announces price changes

Check out the 5000 comments there to the blog post. Pretty intense backlash. Seems a little shady to say they are announcing their "lowest prices ever" when it's just a price hike for anyone with both services.

I guess it's nice to have a DVD only option; but at this point I can't help but question the underlying purpose of offering no bundling discount at all. I thought reduced rates for buying in bulk is something every business ever created understood.

Good news is, for us streaming-only folks we won't see any real difference. Although the selection might be thinning out now that the contracts are going to be drastically more expensive.

Netflix always seemed too good to be true, and I knew it wouldn't last forever the way it was. Still a great alternative to cable, though.

I didn't even know Netflix had a DVD option. I guess it's streaming-only in Canada.

I saw that yesterday too, and I am pissed.

I love streaming, but I like DVD as a backup because:

1) My wireless connection thru my Blu ray players is not stable for some reason, to the point that I often can't even connect. This despite the fact that I have no problems with my other wireless devices (PC, phone, guest's laptops, etc.) that are the same distance or farther away.

2) There is a ton of content that is only available on DVD.

So I'm just going to have to suck it up and pay the 60% (!!!) increase. The least they could have done is dropped the $2 Blu-ray adder...

Fuckin' high five, Pushing Daisies was excellent. Of course it got canceled, too good to last on network TV.

My wife and I burn through series on Netlfix like it's nobody's business. We just finished The IT Crowd and it was great.

We also dropped the DVD portion of our plan since we really don't like waiting at all for any of the movies and if it's not available for stream we just don't watch it. That being said, we'll probably go back to DVDs in the future when it's more practical.
