I really love FF1 and FF2, got them on GBA as Dawn of Souls and really enjoy them. Grinding is pretty important early on. FF1 got really easy near the end though because I grinded so much.

As far as I'm concerned, Final Fantasy is FF1 through FF10. The president of Square left, then FFX-2 came out... then just a consistent spew of crap then on. I think FF10 was a brilliant way to end the FF series, truly blew my mind. You should focus on the real series before moving on to the post-Sakaguchi era. Then after FF10 play Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon.

I did buy FF12 and FF13, even FFX-2, but I never finished any of them...

so the problem i am having is buying things just to find out i cant equip them to my guys. i bought chain mail all around, just to find out only my fighter can wear it. :(

I have the map that came with the game and on the other side it has equipment stats along with who can equip what. Pretty amazing.
But I guess this works, too.

Yeah, the game is supposed.to come with a chart of who can equip what. I forget cause I have other all memorized by now. It is very old fashioned. No decent game makes you read the manual these days.

Not to derail, but I see this as something of a failure on the part of modern games.

Perhaps the same can be said of all birth control. But enough posting- have at you!

While were at it, i want those screen overlays like the vectrex had, i want them to make a comeback. OH, and controller overlays too like intellevission and jaguar. not having those is also a failure of modern games.

;) (i jest)

Or maybe just because you were playing the GBA version? It's about 100x easier than the original.

Controller overlays were awesome. Apparently if the rumors are correct, the Wii 2 will be able to do virtual overlays. Maybe we'll finally get some decent Intellivision emulation

God, it was SUCH a disappointment...so fucking absurdly easy, magic was way overpowered, enemies were nerfed, drops were plentiful...bah!

Modern games are fail-tacular, but I like reading the manual. Onimusha got it right on the manual to plain know-how ratio. If you read the manual, you get an excellent understanding of the game; if you don't, you're not gonna' die. Much.
And screen overlays for all shooting games are what should be.
Controller overlays would be pretty sweet too! Pimp my 360-controller! Woo!
