I decree "no more Dream Theater threads and more T-Square and Casiopea threads."

So decrees Tetsuo, so let's make a thread all about dat fusion
So we all love Casiopea

and we all love T-Square
So this thread is all about gushing over their madd skillz, and recommending even more great bands [Dimension comes to mind]I confess, I've grown fond of these bands as well quite recently, and I blame Dave Harris entirely for getting me into even more genres god damn my hard drive is already full of stuff hnnngff. But I really like it and the talent these guys possess is just so fucking insane, and it's so smooth!

Also, let's not forget, when Casiopea and T-Square come together:

I haven't heard Dimension before. Great call!

Here's a favorite of mine:

Masato Honda is MY MAN. I love the phrasing he uses. So good.

The guitar solo in Omens Of Love is my favorite guitar solo ever. No joke.

That album cover with the lobster. Where can I get massive fucking poster of it?

Music is badass, too. Definitely going on the "must hunt down" list.

Cheers, fellas!

Does funk/jazz count as well? I'd say Casiopea for example have plenty in common with funk as well as fusion. Here's another favorite band I've discovered in the past few years:

SPECTRUM! So awesome! I still think this looks like one of the most fun live performances I've seen- I'll bet these guys ruled hard in person. I've always considered the bass to be the key element in jazz/funk, but SPECTRUM are definitely reiterating the importance of 'DAT BRASS.

Sorry if I'm a bit over-eager: I'm really into uncovering Japanese music greats in general and just get excited about sharing. So!

I approve of this thread. So much. Mmmm.

Check out this song written by T-Square's current drummer Satoshi Bandoh for the GT5 soundtrack.

Awesome tunes, moon! I really enjoy Fantastic Story. I think I might listen to that on repeat when I watch The Thing again.

This the new Omens of Love for me:

Fantasic Story, Bro.

No seriously tough, beautiful song. When I downloaded it last year I started frantically looking for a website to buy it...but my PayPal account wasn't verified at the time so I gave up on that "6 to 8 business days" bullshit...and gave up entirely.

God I love this fucking thread.

EDIT: @Norrin - 7/4!!! :D That's some tasty prog-fusion.

Yes! Best thread ever!

Definitely got to throw some Kenji Omura in here. He's so smooth!

Much love of course to T-Square and Casiopea. Issei Noro is my hero!
