Play WoW.

So, when I -did- play WoW, my first character was a Paladin.

Today I beat Milon in his secret castle Mount Ordeals and what happens?

Made it as far as beating the Dark Elf last night before having to leave to go to a party. I am starting to understand why people are so into these games, I'm having trouble taking my mind off my next moves long enough to focus on work today. :-x

Back to the last save point.

I'm glad you started with IV. That's probably my favorite. I enjoyed having fewer characters as I felt they really could develop them a little more. I should play it again sometime but I'm kind of afraid to take the nostalgia goggles off. After getting through IV, you should really enjoy VI. It's a fair amount more epic. Hopefully some of the little twists are still enjoyable for you even after all these years. I'd personally go Chrono Trigger after VI and then go to VII.

Final Fantasy stopped existing for me after IX. Everything after it is just some new series with buckle-clad edgy heroes that I have no interest in playing.

I really hope Shoe has played VI by now.

All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.

I'm really curious about one thing:

Do the people who said IV originally play it before ever playing VI?

I said to play IV first, and I played IV first.

EDIT: i.e. Played IV before VI. My first was FF I, although I never got that far.

reason I ask is that those two seem to have the strongest nostalgia attached to them, though FF1 doesn't have nearly as much.

I wonder which title is best to the people who started with 7 or above. I obviously can't test this for myself, but I really noticed it playing the Phantasy Star games in reverse order, and I was thinking about a similar experiment with the Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest or Ys series, neither of which I've ever played.

This is, in essence, why I put the question out there; figuring that most of the board has played these games, possibly not in order, but enough that many people had very strong opinions about which games would be the best starting point. It was as much about taking the poll as it was having an answer.

As I go deeper into this game, I think I understand...

P.S. - FUCK trap doors. Fuck'em.

It's not about which is the best, though. It's about order of play. I don't think that there's much argument about which is the best.
