I think my distrust in the Red Wizards branches from my fathers father. He was a middle class work, such as my self, and he always spoke of the red wizards as the eyes of the night. I mean really? Who doesn't take a side ?? Until its to late! then that's when they usually fallow the path of the dark arts. My father's father told of a Red Robe of the name of Nar'lie . Who would join bands of fighters for high payments. Some times attacking the bands he once fought for. After a while towns men caught on and trapped him and then killed him.

A bold statement, but spoken with conviction. I vote that we let him live. Some times their just to fucking powerful. Sure their weak in strength (some times not) , but getting to them can be ones own suicidal death wish if they don't know this certain wizards back ground. If there are more then 2 wizards... JUST FORGOT IT! Heat spells don't really brother me like they used to, honestly. Ice spells are and can be brutal if you are blindsided by the spell. Lighting spells are still my biggest fear, AND ALWAYS WILL BE! Some say to trust white wizards however I don't. I think anyone that plays with magic is by birthright evil. Black Wizards ARE! Evil in nature , however I think the worst of the wizards are the red robes. haha Why you ask, Let me tell you. Red Wizards claim not to take a side. they dabble in both white and black arts , however no matter how hard they try they can never truly master the black or white art unless they become black or white wizards them selves. Usually they turn to the black arts for the power aspect. Very few I've heard of going from Red to White... very very few!

That’s why it's good to have a thief in your party, or band. Research is key when it comes to attacking a Red or Black Robe. NEVER! Assume! With Black Robes, it's easy for them to fool an attacker. Say only casting lite spells at first and hammering with heavy spells for a win, as mentioned earlier.
Note: Black robes can regain serenity faster than White and Red robes after a spell is cast.
With Red Wizards it's sometimes easier to judge their spell ability. Old saying about a Red Wizard is something like "The thicker the sword, the thinner the spell" (p.343). I find that to be somewhat true. Red Wizards are the 'Jack of all trades, master of none', If they have to reply on a sword then that could mean they only can cast 'lite' spells through 'medium heavy' spells. However, again, it's more than likely they know 'medium' only spells with a small selection if they are wielding a sword.
Many Red Wizards grow depend on the sword in which is their greatest downfall (p.564).
Having an experienced thief follow a Wizard and do research on them is a leaders greatest advantage when attacking a Wizard. Going in blind to a fight with a Wizard no matter how large or ample ones band or party is almost always going to result in life lost. Granted sometimes it can't be helped. Nevertheless a party or band should know their routes before fore hand. Most townships make resident Wizards of all Robes register before they are granted real estate with in the village, town or city limits. Even outside town limits for a Wizard of any Robe to do business within the limits of a city they must announce themselves through the town halls of a town or city. In the case of a village, it must be announce through the council of the said village.
Plans might change, but a good Thief that does recon of all possible routes will get any party or band ahead when it comes to Wizards.
Some will say the worst Wizard attack is 2 or more Black Wizards. Studies have shown though that Wizards usually work alone unless payment is high. Therefore, if there are 2 or more Black Wizards working together, one is usually the "strong one" where the other or others or the pupils of the strong one.
Red Wizards working with a Black Robe is usually a pupil or a hired hand. Most likely a hired hand; the pros of a Black Robe working with a Red Robe is the steel factor of a sword and the power to lite heal.
If there is a White Wizard working with a Black Wizard. More than likely the Black Robe is in charge unless there are other party or band members. An attacker's best venture in the attacking of the Wizards is to eradicate the White Robe first. A heavy spell of heal can make the battle last longer than needed. White Wizards are ordinarily weak to most physical attacks and don't deliver strong physical attacks in return. Rule of thumb is to knock out the healer as soon as possible.
White Robes regain serenity faster than Red Robes after spell casting, however still not as fast as Black Robes.
When doing research of Wizards in the area, check Township library's to see if the Wizards have any past involvement with groups or bands. Even see if they have an alias they go by.
