You know what else is incredible? The way the game seems to be designed for sequence breaking. As one random example, at 32 minutes, using the speed booster to get this energy tank instead of speed booster + gravity suit:
edit: actually, in general, that site is really in need of an FAQ and/or About page. "people who visit should already know" is a stupid, exclusivist, and lazy excuse, if that's the one they're sticking to.
heh, yeah, and it wasn't discovered until 16 years after the game's release!
If I see the guy who hosts that site, I will recommend to him having quick descriptions of the categories. I wouldn't think it's lacking on purpose.
About the video... I've been told you only need to have A,B,X,Y held in the mid-point of the door transition into golden torizo's room (and I think holding extra buttons can mess it up), so it's easy to let go of shoot before you are able to crash the game (you don't need to ball up). Also, you can use the code from either entrance.
So basically in the speedrun you get the minimum you need to get to golden torizo's room, do the code, and roll over the rest of the game. The best part is mega man 1 style phantoon and draygon.
On VC you can add this too to skip all of the bosses, but it crashes the game on SNES.
Mr. Ranger, I stream the most on the weekends, and the least on tuesday and thursday cause I'm out of the house for 14 hours, but no schedule otherwise.
yeah rize, I can't believe I never played this game before doing so at megamatts, I understand well now why many people think it's the best game for the system.
