Okay, so I'm becoming a vgm addict, I guess there's worse things. Anyway, having never owned a DS (my son actually owns one now lol) I'm not too familiar with any games, but it has a nice sound so I'm interested in collecting some soundtracks, I just don't know where to start. 

 

From past experience I downloaded all 3 Castlevania titles, and after a quick listen they were well worth the download. I have also found on another forum someone recommended the Phoenix Wright series, which I've also come to like. I've played the Layton series and that music is pretty good, but there are alot of DS games. 

 

So, in your experience which Nintendo DS game has the best OST, besides the few I've mentioned?

 

Sorry if these posts are becoming annoying, I'm just a bit OCD when it comes to these type of things (I have to have the best collection!!!!!!!!!)

We'll survive the onslaught of similar Akkadian posts.  Somehow.

 

 

For Nintendo DS, the less obvious thing you're missing is ETRIAN ODYSSEY.  Download all 3.  These are composed by Yuzo Koshiro who composed such greats as Actraiser and Streets of Rage.  He even has a few songs (the best songs imo) on the Castlevania Portrait of Ruin sound track (the opening stage and "gears gone awry") so you're probably already enjoying his tunes.

 

You might as well pick up Advance Wars Dual Strike and Days of Ruin while you're at it.

I only saw 2, at least in 2sf format.... they are good though, I can see after a quick listen, thanks

3 is out there somewhere, but out dated collections won't have it.

I have quite the collection of DS games actually, there's probably more I'm forgetting.

 

 

might as well get the DS version of virt's Scurge Hive sound track while you're getting Contra 4.  I like it better than the GBA version.

Osu Tatakae Ouendan is apparently Japanese pop music, but it's very good. 

 

Pokemon Black/White had a surprisingly excellent soundtrack, and I wouldn't recommend a Pokemon soundtrack lightly. 

 

EDIT: So many DS games are great, but I can't think of their soundtracks at the moment. Phoenix Wright is a good call, even if the first 3 games are GBA games.
