I just started up Mercenary Kings last night after some trouble trying to get into a new game. It's a mission-based run & gun that seems pretty neat. You have a base of operations with specialists that can craft / upgrade weapons, armor, and perks. Objectives are things you would expect like rescuing hostages, neutralizing specific targets and gathering materials. It's real fun so far and the art has that Paul Robertson charm in the details + animation.

I bought Mercenary Kings super cheap when I first got my PS4 but never played more than like 30 minutes of it. Someday I'd like to give it another shot.

It's set in around 1900, and an ancestor of Phoenix Wright travels to England and practices law under their system. There are obvious Edgeworth/Maya stand-ins. Sherlock Holmes is there, and he's an annoying idiot. It is KILLING me with how good it is. The only way to play the game in English sounds like a baffling ordeal so I'll probably never be able to see all the dialog for when you screw up or waste everyone's time by showing them unrelated evidence, but it is a blast to watch. About halfway through now.

got addicted to skate 3 again. fucking love this series. RIP EA Black Box.
im currently trying to 100% the offline content, which means "killing" every challenge in the game
I only played the first Skate but it’s still my favorite skateboard video game cause it’s less “lemme grind this entire rollercoaster for a million point” and more “holy shit I did a kickflip backside tailslide into the transition”

You should probably disclose that you worked on the game if you're going to promote it in every thread on the shizz...
SHUT UP! Disclosing that you had something to do with a project automatically makes people on the internet not like it. Also, posting it in every thread on earth is how the internet does things. GET WITH THE TIMES!
Also... I'm all up in this game.

Anyone like Fire Emblem? Can anyone tell me what they like best about it?
After hearing how good Fire Emblem games are for years, I finally tried to play Fire Emblem Path of Radiance from the gamecube, but I stopped after like 10 missions. It was just too easy and simple and just plain uninteresting. The plot wasn't good, the characters weren't good, the strategy was incredibly basic. Maybe I stopped too early? But it seems like that was maybe 25% of the game.
Plenty of people enjoy Fire Emblem so much and I love strategy and rpgs, so I really wish I could love it too. Was really hoping, but so far it looks grim.

I'm a big fan of Fire Emblem, but I'll be honest... Path of Radiance is one of my least favorites.
If you're looking for a tougher challenge, you should try an older game in the series.
I find the characters are what stand out to me in these games.
It takes a little while, but over time you'll find a group of characters you like and you'll grow attached to them.
When I fight a really tough opponent, I find myself thinking about my actions very carefully as I don't want anybody to die.
That's the toughest part to deal with in Fire Emblem.
You can't revive characters that die, so do you try the level again in order to keep them, or do you go on without them?
However, a lot of the more recent games have a "Casual mode" that throws perma-death out the window.
For some people it's fine if you just want to get through the game with as little hassle as possible, but it really kills the game's difficulty.
You probably won't find the story much different in each game.
Basically, every game's plot is "An evil being (dragon / wizard / demon / crazy or misguided person) has raised an army and is trying to take over the world and it's up to you to stop them."
Just out of curiosity, what other strategy RPGs have you played?
I can't help but wonder what it is you like about other games that you're not getting with Fire Emblem?
