Finally got down to getting translated versions of great old games that I've obviously never played because they were in Japanese.

Bugged the shit out of me that a lot of them couldn't be easily found in patched and translated form, and so took some stupid work to do.

Got these roms together along with a collection of other snes and sega genesis games that were on 'best game' lists.  Put them on my modded xbox to play, and now I have a quality selection instead of the semi-decent one from other stupid people's emulator disks.

Figured this might interest other members of the shizz.  Some quality roms you probably haven't played before, as well as a good little collection of good old games (150 or so for genesis, more than that for snes).  Also includes an iso file with the games on them that when burned on a DVD -R at 1x speed can be read by an xbox.

Uploaded this to a google drive.  Not sure if it's kosher to publicly declare the user/pass for you guys to enjoy?

Need some authority on this.

i thought this thread was going to be about rom stuff that's directly Shizzie related, like the Shizz Tecmo Bowl rom, keemt's FF6 hack, the Castlevania hack(s) one (or more) of our member(s) were involved in, etc. i'd love to see all those in one place.

personally really excited to see what you chose, though.

snes list

sega list

I also had to manually change a lot of names to allow them to be placed on xbox.  It had trouble writing over long names, anything with a comma and some of the ones with hyphens or dashes.

Isn't this how ROM packs come anyway?  The zip files usually have every available version and translation that exists as a ROM.

I'd like this just for the translated roms. I don't see any Shin Megami Tensei games on there though.

I've been looking around to see if anyone has compiled a torrent with English fan translated roms (mostly SNES but other systems are fine) so I don't have to hunt and do it myself. This looks pretty good though.

first of all, funky fm music just really does it for me.  Even if it's something corny like early mariah carey I can get way into the music with the fm bass and keys going on.   Then, there's everything else in this song.  The enigmatic title.  The synth programming brings out all the right emotional responses in me:  leads that remind me of thunderforce (even if the portamento isn't quite as exaggerated), chording synths that remind me of very old and charming genesis osts like super monaco (except somehow they don't sound as flimsy here), and of course a solid bass.  Great original motifs, interesting harmonies, good melody, rhythm.. everything that can make a song great is here!

Too bad Google Drive severely limits your bandwidth. I've built up a large collection I'd be happy to share.

Romhustler.net usually includes translations in their ROMsets, if there was a translation available at the time the set was made.
