This game deserves a thread.

I bought it on 3DS. Played one level so far. Died once. I like the treasure recovery method if you die. Lots of little secrets just in the first level. The first boss was challenging but not overly hard.

I think my hand is gonna cramp on my 3DS. Desire to get an XL is high...

And for anyone who thinks this game is just going to be a MegaMan game, it's not even close.

first of all, funky fm music just really does it for me.  Even if it's something corny like early mariah carey I can get way into the music with the fm bass and keys going on.   Then, there's everything else in this song.  The enigmatic title.  The synth programming brings out all the right emotional responses in me:  leads that remind me of thunderforce (even if the portamento isn't quite as exaggerated), chording synths that remind me of very old and charming genesis osts like super monaco (except somehow they don't sound as flimsy here), and of course a solid bass.  Great original motifs, interesting harmonies, good melody, rhythm.. everything that can make a song great is here!

I'm imagining Ellis writing the script to this at a computer, and every time he gets to the end of a line about religion being bad he smacks his fedora to tip it, making the sounds of a typewriter being reset.

I know I want to get this, but I'm debating either Steam or Wii U...

Since this is such a strong love letter to NES games, I'm leaning towards getting the console version.

Yeah, I don't have any newfangled Nintendo systems, so it's Steam for me.

gods i cannot speak highly enough about this game.  i got my code last night and started into it.

in my brain, it combines some of the best parts of some of my favorite games: faxanadu, zelda 2, wizards and warriors, zeliard.

bits of it are hard.  most of it is ok to get through so far for my aging fingers and reflexes.

there is a TON of hidden stuff.

the dialogue is incredible and hilarious and groanworthy.

the soundtrack is some of the best i've heard.

something tells me i'm going to wish it wasn't over as soon as it's going to be over.

everyone needs to be at the listening and release party tonight, btw. :D

i REALLY want this, but i don't want to pay full price. not admist steam and gog summer sale.

It's really hard to for to justify any full price buy when i have a giant backlog of games to go through.

But from what i've seen of the game.. it seems fantastic.

If the price/value ratio is a concern, it may help to note that I've put in almost 45 minutes and only beaten two levels. I've only died twice too, so that's not time spent retrying things.

There's two areas in stage 2 that have some twinkling sparkly bits, but I can't figure out what to do. Both are over pits I think.

Paid 20 bucks to buy this 15 dollar game on 3ds eShop. So far thats been the only downside. Got up to Spectre Knight then died a lot so I took a break.

The 3D is DA BOMB though!
