VGM on an Ensoniq busts my diap

Ensoniq was the best synth maker. Just straight up. I hope nobody revives them. And I hope their stuff never gets super popular so I don't have to pay $800 for an ESQ-1 or some nonsense.

I decided to focus on learning piano this year, but I can't really pay anyone to teach me.

Anybody know of good online resources (YT channels, etc.) that anybody recommends for such a thing?

What style are you looking to play? Jazz? Classical? Pop? Rock? Synth leads?

I guess somewhere between classical and pop. I can already do synth leads, and that's really about it. my chording is so fucking sloppy that I can't do much else.

If you ever go "in the box", there is the free SQL8 - which I use every once in a while.

Hmm. Well, let me know if you have any questions, if you want like exercises or some basic piano repertoire to with on, I can probably assist with that. 🙂

I did it. I bought a 2017 re-issue of the Minimoog Model D, the very first Moog ever sold to the public.

They made reissues last year and it's identical in every way except they cleaned up the tuning and provided some note priority options. SO AMPED.

Going through my drive to clean space, found a demo of the Europe month DoD track I did with Prozax, Midee, Norg and Finbeard, I made this demo on my Fantom G with a lot of my own imported sounds and patches. It's rare that I'll write entire arrangements on it, but moving this from Cubase and doing it on a synth helped to be able to sequence, program and record right into something without having to deal with a PC and a mouse and the internet. I think it's particularly effective when working in a group, it forces me to impose limits on myself and write parts that can be more easily worked around and improvised by each player, instead of overworking a part in Cubase and making it so rhythmically or harmonically important that it becomes a problem when the performer can't play it well.

Holy shit! That's amazing. Do you do recording and/or sound engineering professionally? Or is it just a hobby?
