My gf drank both bottles of San Pellegrino that I left at her place. She knows I gotta have my fizz, so she replaced it with a bottle of Fonte Santa Barbara di Lurisia, not realizing it was still. I'm not exaggerating when I say that it was perhaps the best water I've ever drank. The lack of fizz was completely irrelevant because it was so light and clean tasting.

We should become fine fizz water connoisseurs with an appreciation for the subtleties of the drink. Form a society of fizz. A club.

Club Seltzer.

I've tried to like La Croix but it and other sparkling water brands but they all just taste extremely bitter to me. My wife did just find a brand that was very mild on the bitterness but was extremely refreshing! I wish I could remember the name of that brand.

All you sparkling water pros, is it a taste that you just get used to the more you drink it or am I just being a total wuss?

Maybe your subconscious is still looking for the sugar? I don't know. I always get mine in a can because it feels like I am enjoying a beverage in the same way I would a soda or a cheap/light beer. I'm a big fan of lemon, and grapefruit. Lime is pretty good and orange is okay. But don't really enjoy the berry or pomegranate flavors much. I also find that different brands vary wildly. I find the Safeway brands too carbonated and sharp. Perrier is a bit too minerally or has too much sodium or something. Crystal Geyser is okay but there's something almost malty or thick about it that I don't prefer. Some of the La Croix flavors are stronger than I prefer while others are just right. My favorite lemon and lime are the Nob Hill/Raley's brand.

ive tried, but i just cant get into the seltzer lifestyle. something about it tastes off or metallic

That'd be the carbonic acid. But then, all acids taste a little weird by themselves - we're used to tasting them with other flavors.

I am disappointed by the thread title not, in fact, being "Shizz Fizz".

I'm imagining Ellis writing the script to this at a computer, and every time he gets to the end of a line about religion being bad he smacks his fedora to tip it, making the sounds of a typewriter being reset.

I prefer plain seltzer most of the time. Seltzer is the best.

As was the case with my main DS2 character, Lieutenant Wor, the name field was ONE character too short for poor Schweppes Seltze... :(

Man, I've never seen/noticed La Croix before. You guys are making it sound amazing, I hope I come across it someday!

sardines

I'm going to need a video of you eating these.  Do you just snack on 'em or what?

I think I've only ever seen sardines on Looney Toons as a kid.

That being said, I can totally see you buying these as a snack.  It's the fish equivalent of chef boyardee.

Sardines are amazing. I'm European so I grew up eating all manner of canned/pickled fish and meat. You can eat sardines as a meal, all you really need is some good bread, a ripe tomato and a cucumber.

EDIT: and of course a tall cool glass of seltzer. B| X
