Does If These Trees Could Talk count? Definitely post-rock but I don't know about proggy. They're definitely not proggy in the sense of Polyphia or Scale the Summit but I think that they explore their soundscape enough to qualify as prog.

I think it's fine to have a dissenting opinion, but if you come into a thread about a genre—be it music, movies, or whatever—just to say it's boring, you're not really adding anything. You can expound upon why you find it boring, but otherwise it's like going into a thread on horror movies just to say horror movies suck.

Chon rocks, I'm not familiar with this style otherwise though. Sounds controversial.

Town Portal is somewhere in between these types of bands and normal post rock I guess. They are pretty dang rad. I love their production.

This is going to be my ONLY chance to post this band. I fucking love love love Special Others. they are not Proggy, or Technical, but have the spirit of this genre in a way. Good melodies, clean tones, some vibes but great playing. Also the fucking chorus to this song gets me so hard. Look at how hard the audience gets into this.

So this band fits like..maybe 50% of this. I think Robby V can appreciate this.

this came up in my spotify recommendations and i'm actually really into. there's a lot of sick fusion-y/lett-y stuff in here as well.

this is the whole EP, but its pretty short. part @ 2:50 is so fucking baller

Red Sparowes is worth consideration:

Also +1 for Pelican. One of my favorite groups.

I find Polyphia incredibly hard to listen to for more than a song or too, I got Muse last year at some point and I just find it very taxing to the ears, like the equivalent of a wall-of-sound of Def Leppard without any space to breath, and really peppy. Just wears me down.

I find Plini much easier to listen to. His releases have been very good so far and one of my favorites. We (myself, Spookmeister C, Shoe, Sherv, thecreeper and theDude) saw him and Intervals live in Lancaster and it was a good grip. Also pretty incredible to see guys play that fast, technically and accurately live. Plini didn't mess up once. I said wow! I haven't even had a chance to listen to his new song/teaser for the new album.

As I mention in many threads I like a lot of these bands but if they have vocals, and the style of them, can be make or break. Some are very hard to listen to, there's a lot of guitar and a lot of it going all out at all times.
