Is Felix any good as a mortal savant? His mag seems to be pretty bad and I'm not sure what spells he gets. He is a complete powerhouse with a sword though, but I was thinking I might just leave him on swordmaster or assassin.

I have him as mortal servant and it's been great. I mostly use him with swords but occasionally I use him to attack from distance or armored units. It's a great option.

The nice part about class-changing to a different job is that it raises your character's stats to the base stats for that class.

Mortal Savant has a base of 17 in magic, so if Felix has less than that currently, making him a Mortal Savant will increase his magic stat accordingly.

I made him that class too and it worked out fine.

It's a good fit for him since it gives him a good way to attack from a distance.

As a Swordmaster, the only way to attack from a distance would be to use a Levin Sword (which still requires magic), unless you've built up his skill in another weapon.

Side note on Ingrid - she's a great one to get early and train up through the classes, as she gets Lord-level stat growth and becomes a complete house. From what I understand master classes in general have worse stat growth? But I have no idea how to check it, some of the UI in FE3H is godawful.

Having fun with my Eagles still - recruited Lystheia since I heard she's nuts (she did one shot the

Spoiler
), but creep master Hubert is still just deleting entire maps by himself. I dunno if I got lucky on his stat growths or what, but he's level 19 and has nearly 30 MAG, oh my days. Lystheia is the same level and has.. 23?

Wizwars, about the bush hogging. Just wet and part my man. Give that bush the Moses treatment and head for the Promised Land.

Whaaaaaaaaat.

I wouldn't say the Master classes have worse stat growth... just different.

Growth rates are pretty comparable; you won't see much difference in stat gains going from Advanced to Master classes, unless the Master class has something new to offer.

Obviously a class like Mortal Savant will have better magic growth than Swordmaster, but not much else.

The main difference with Master classes is that they have higher prerequisites.

Usually A ranks... sometimes skill levels in 3 different categories.

You'd be totally fine sticking with an Advanced class right to the end; the Master classes are just something else to strive for should you want to keep building your levels in other areas.

There's a game called Membrane on sale for a whopping 9 cents right now in the eshop. I had never heard of it but it seems like it has good reviews, and it's hard to pass up 9 cents.

Have you ended up putting any time into this? I missed the insane discount but some trailers make it look like something that I might enjoy at full price.

Actually, now that the new improved extra battery switch is out.... Maybe I'll either get that, or find an even better deal for an old one.

Thanks for the tip, spent some time with it last night and enjoyed it so far! I haven't played a Dragon Quest game since dabbling with 4 in college and that was only maybe two-three hours worth.

Yeah, dawg, it's a good one! I lol'ed when the demo ended right before the first area where you can encounter metal slimes. They knew some people would grind them for a month of they allowed it.

The only thing I can say against it is that it reminded me of why I fell away from jrpgs in the first place: I don't care about the same basic storyline that they all tend to hold: mysteriously magic teens congregate to save world from generically evil-just-because beings. But just romping through the world is fun.

However, after Breath of the Wild it's weird playing a game with like tons of rocky outcrops everywhere and not being able to just go wherever and do whatever.

Yeah it does feel a lot of times like you should be able to get up on things but get the old invisible wall block. But I'm usually willing to give DQ games a pass on things like that. The world interaction is the best yet in the series which I'm happy about, despite being behind many other open world games. But DQ was never about being 'open world'.
