Man nothing about Trump declaring a national emergency to swap funding to one of his campaign promises?

Of all the things Trump has done, this may be the most corrosive to our democracy. Get ready for every President to do this shit x1000 because abusing authority is easier than following democratic procedure.

Sadly, nothing is surprising anymore. I just hope this government has some sort of check to prevent it.

Congress is working on legislation to overturn his invocation of a national emergency. If it passes, he can still veto it.

It will be more interesting to see what comes of the states' lawsuits against him, but that will surely be slow to proceed.
