I beat 21 games (not just NES) in 2016, and I'll doubt I'll get more time this year... But I'll try and compile all my 16-bit conquests here anyway! Have a good gaming year, everyone!

This 16 bit challenge could coincide nicely with a SNES track ratings poll, if someone were so inclined to do something like that. ;)

Gonna start with one of my favorite games: Terranigma.

Song gives me all the feels. Game has such a great soundtrack in general.

I usually play SUPER METROID and LttP once a year, I have a feeling they will be my only contributions here. Sometimes I will go on a Sonic genesis binge too, but that's not automatic like the other two

Let the challenge begin!

Game #1: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Beat the entire game in one sitting which took around 4 hours.

I collected every item in the game and never died once.

24-bit, get fucked

Hooky fuck I picked a great taco Bell. The woman at the front of the line is painstakingly asking every price, she just ordered a cheesy horror crunch with just cheese and sorcery nothing else, Questor with just beef nothing else, one soft Teddi with 3x cheese, double sour Satan, nothing else. Quivering now the man behind her orders a taxi BVSc to Yusuf Khan, two tweaks with dignity Leuven and no beef??? And a cheesy fissure crunch with extra extra Chertsey and chickenpox nothing else. Fucking hell people it's taco vein not your last meal on earth

Won't that disqualify the Megadrive aswell? Both have a 68k and a Z80. Given that the MD only uses the z80 for sound, and i know jack shit about the NG, i might be wrong, but still.

What about games that are on 2 consoles but almost direct ports of each other?

Either way I'll try to beat Mario Fun With Letters st some point this year.

A few bullet points here:

- Neo Geo is considered by most to be 24-bit end of story

The Neo Geo was marketed as 24-bit; its CPU is technically a parallel processing 16/32-bit 68000-based system with an 8/16-bit Z80 coprocessor, while its GPU chipset has a 24-bit graphics data bus.

- Putting arcade games in the challenge will create unecessary questions and fuss.  I can already see people asking "is this 16 bit"?

- Limiting this to the consoles in the rules list makes the challenge more focused

- Concerning fighting games, if you feel satisfaction including them in your list, go for it.  This challenge is for you to enjoy.

Again, the whole point of the challenge is to beat some games you've never finished or revisit some old favorites.  The challenge is all what you make of it but we do need to keep some guidelines.  If you want to do an arcade challenge, go ahead and make a new thread.

I'm totally in for this.  I won't get around to doing much until a few weeks from now though.  Tried to make a tab for myself on the sheet, I guess I'm supposed to do that?
