Portland has been cancelled.  Can anyone help get us a show?

Come hang out!  Don't like Old Man Wizard?  Hang out with us in the day time, then do something else while we play the show!  I understand.  I don't like bars, either.

Washington people, you need to see Witch Ripper, though.

Pingo is taking full advantage of his summer break. I'd love to come see a show, but alas, I cannot. But hey, I'll see you a few days after the last show!

If you can make it to one of these shows, do yourself a favor and go. Old Man Wizard blew me away when I saw them a few years ago. So much power for a three piece metal band.

A lot of you have probably already seen this but... just in case. Spread the word, especially if you are in / near SF.

Oh no! Is there anything that can be done other than police reports, etc?

Police won't do a thing here, even though the items stolen probably amount to a felony. I was getting dressed to walk around and see what I found, "hoping" the break-in was in the Tenderloin. The Mission is outside my wheelhouse though. Larger numbers in groups, typically more violent.

Unfortunately the reality in SF is such that you shouldn't leave ANYTHING visible in your car. It will be broken into, stolen, sold, destroyed, and/or defecated on. On top of that, the DA won't press file charges for property crimes so thieves are on the street the next morning. Because of that the police have no incentive to pick these people up or do any sort of investigation.

Police won't do a thing here, even though the items stolen probably amount to a felony.

If you have the serial number and request a report (not an incident number, but a REPORT), they will put the gear into a state or federal property database (state for misdemeanor value, federal for felony).  From there, if any other law enforcement officer runs that serial number, it will come back flagged as stolen.  You might get initial pushback from the officer about them not wanting to do a report if there's no ability to follow-up, but having the serial number should overcome that.

The added bonus is that having a report makes it much easier to reclaim the property as yours if it does turn up on craigslist or in a pawn shop or something.

Yeah I have a bit of hope for the bass to turn up, since it's unique. I was actually planning on selling it to someone in the community after this tour, so I hope we find it.

The other stuff, though, I have no serial numbers for, and it was all pretty much like-new gear. There's no way to tell my bass head or pedals from someone else's.

The real thing on my mind (in b4 take it to the politics thread): why is the world set up in such a way that I can replace $2000 worth of gear without batting an eye, while someone else is in a position to think "hmm, the stuff in this van might get me through next week, let's see..."

I had the same thought when my bike got stolen a few months ago. I bought a new one the next day, no problem. I'm fine. Why do I deserve that kind of power over someone else?

Anyway, we're about to play San Jose, then we'll head up to Washington. Come hang out!

I'm reminded of the thread you made about the importance of cataloging the serial numbers on all of your stuff (instruments, consoles, etc).

That super, duper, suuuuuuuuuper fucking sucks, Pingo. :(
