Entries are up! 15 mains, 7 alts, listen to them on the duel page: http://dwellingofdue...els/17-10-free/

The zip is still uploading while I'm writing this, so if it's not working just wait a bit. Entries directly on the page work normally. :)

Listening party date and time TBA.

I'm kicking myself for not doing "Eight Magics" myself.  It's exactly the type of musical pun I love.  Song sounds killer.

Hah, that Castlevania III song is so bad ass. Last night while waiting in line for SNES Classics (mission accomplished!), my friend and I got talking about how we wish Konami would release a Castlevania Classics collection that includes everything pre-Symphony. Anyway, we got talking about CV3's soundtrack, and I decided Aquarius is probably my favorite song on that soundtrack, then lo and behold - it's the first song on the DoD list when I wake up.

I'm really going to try to not be a penis and actually vote this month. It'll be a little more difficult with Halloween activities and the SNES Classic distracting me, but I will try. Obviously I'll be giving CV3 high marks.

I really wanted to cover something from Cuphead but the weird time signatures and hard to figure out progressions kinda sorta scared me away.

hell yeah, it's so rad. the pun was mine, obviously the playing was not.

i want to cover some cuphead stuff too, but yeah a lot of it is reallly hard. i tried to learn the bass for sugarland shimmy, but even when i slowed it down, it's too back in the mix to pick out the notes.

Would people be interested in a listening party on twitch, tomorrow evening (7 or 8pm EDT)?

We got our hands on the dwellingofduels twitch channel recently so this might be an opportunity to use it. We could still use IRC for chat and twitch just to play the songs, since I don't know if twitch lets you dump the chat log.

I believe twitch chat is just an IRC channel, so maybe you can connect to it and get a log that way?

edit: or at least compatible with IRC clients

You're right, it's possible to connect to a chat via an irc client. I'll try and figure out exactly how it works.

But in any case, I'd keep the regular irc chat (maybe in the #dwellingofduels channel on esper?) for people who don't have a twitch account or don't wanna make one.

Sorry guys, unfortunately I couldn't do the listening party last night. We might try the twitch thing for November though.

Results will be up today afternoon/evening.

What if we just did one tonight instead and extended voting for a day?

Yes. Awesome. I'll be glad if you did just that. It'd be great.

Sorry but I'll have to say no, since it's a bit too late to organize something now. If you'd asked yesterday, I would've said yes, but this is on a really short notice. I'm not available later today so we'd need to find a host and the host would most likely have to do it oldschool style (queue - play). The other thing is, how many people would show up? I could put announcements on social media and forums but first I'd need an exact time and place, and by the time we agreed on those, it would already be too late.

I tried my best to organize a listening party this month but it just didn't work out. I apologize that we're not having DoD parties as regularly as before but the hours at which the listening party usually happens just aren't convenient for me, and I have to rely on others to get them done, which sometimes works out and sometimes doesn't.

Results will be up in 2-3 hours
