This thread is for music that comes packaged with old hardware and software. Demo songs for keyboards and drum machines, demo songs for music software, sick fusion from old encylopedia cd-roms etc. Kind of like library music, but generally stuff that is either chip or soundblaster based. Or whatever.

Fact of the matter is, there are a lot of songs that were made for these things that totally rip and they need to be appreciated. Cover songs are legit in the thread too, because arranging Shakatak tracks for a PCM synth takes talent and dedication. This is like the sibling of VGM. Post em!

Here are some of my favs

Like what the fuck this could be from Mad Stalker

Reminds me a bit of George and Jonathan, or Wind Song by T-Square

The fuck!!! The part at 1:00!

Hooky fuck I picked a great taco Bell. The woman at the front of the line is painstakingly asking every price, she just ordered a cheesy horror crunch with just cheese and sorcery nothing else, Questor with just beef nothing else, one soft Teddi with 3x cheese, double sour Satan, nothing else. Quivering now the man behind her orders a taxi BVSc to Yusuf Khan, two tweaks with dignity Leuven and no beef??? And a cheesy fissure crunch with extra extra Chertsey and chickenpox nothing else. Fucking hell people it's taco vein not your last meal on earth

I also have childhood memories of a keyboard; my dad's Yamaha PSR-510, which I now have in my possession, since I've used it in some DoD entries, among other things.

My fondest memories lie with song 1 (0:03) and 4 (8:35). Song 1 because everytime you push the demo song button it, obviously, plays song 1 first and many many times have I pressed the button while the volume was way too loud, scaring the shit out of me, and not so surprisingly, it happened just now when I went to go check them out again. I have now realized, after all these years, that the demo song volume is innately louder than the main volume. Song 4 starts out with HELICOPTERS and SCARY SOUNDS and this made me think of Contra as a kid so I had fun pretending shooting aliens while the song blared. This song also blatantly rips off just so many things that it's kind of hilarious, I can't help but laugh. Song 2 (2:25) is pretty cool, too. I remember that one as well and skipped the rest, just re-listening to 1 and 4.

I haven't been in danger of Running Out Of Plus Ones in a while, but this thread just might do it.

This demo from the sound module Roland SD-50 is a pretty cool jam. Check it out.

My father had a Roland E16 for a long time (he traded for a Yamaha Clavinova recently), i believe i learned how to use a click track because of the 4 lights metronome thingy on it. It had some sweet demo stuff:

Man, all of these sound so great. All we had was this shitty Just The Way You Are demo.

Actually, what's cool about it is it randomly chooses voices at parts, and so instead of a melody you would get ocean waves.

Recorded this demo from late 90s Boss DR-5 drum machine a while back.  That laser-like string slide sound in the beginning gets me every time, but the thing has a surprisingly good variety of samples, which straight up sound like they could've been used in SNES or N64 games (and very well might have been, given that Roland is Boss' parent company).  I don't use it as a drum machine, because it's stupid hard to program, but it's still sitting on my desk in case I ever get around to using it as an external synth.
