Songs where the Puff Daddy version is better

LOL, that brings back some memories. I had an opportunity to visit the Record Plant. Turned out my new friend from work, Kidron, had somehow became buddy buddy with Steve Lillywhite (who was producing Dave Matthews Band). Long story short, we both quit our Wal-Mart job and headed down to San Francisco. She flew, I had to Greyhound it
Spent a few days down there crashing with other DMB fans she met online. This one gal in particular sticks out in my mind. Family had money, and it was the 2nd time in my life seeing how rich people rich. Fucking out of my element. Anyways, that night was 6/9/98 and this popped on the TV
OK, it wasn't VH1. It was actually SNL, but youtube is failing me. The gal we were staying with went on a diatribe about how much she hated Puff Daddy, Plant selling out, etc. Oh the 90s, you sure had lots of feels about the musics.
I gotta wrap this up. We finally make it there and get to hear some tracks Guster was working on for the upcoming album Lost and Gone Forever.
Also, as per tradition, I didn't get laid DA END

“well, if you get kidnapped and sent down a river for real, yeah, they probably aren’t gonna give you any trail mix.”

In the bridge, I could imagine Puff standing next to Jimmy Page with his hands on a 88-key M-audio midi controller that's in front of the mixer, and playing that little common chord progression. "Shit that was hot as gold" and Jimmy is like "Why do I even exist?" in his thoughts as the orchestra stares back at him.
