Like ErichWK said, thank you for posting. It was beautiful and brutal. I knew Sean through shows. He was one of the first Shizzies I met and he always went out of his way to make me feel like I was part of the The Shizz family. He had so much energy and love; every show he went to was better because he was there. I hope we see you at MagWest. I'm glad to know he was loved by you and excited for better things.

@Shevawn: my god, I read through all of it and when I finished, tears were all over my eyes. Still are. I'm so sorry you lost someone as special as Sean. We all did, but it is obvious that what you two had was beyond anything any of us could give him. Now I'm feeling even more sad and angry about all this situation. At least I'm glad Sean was loved back so much by someone as he deserved. Thanks again for sharing.

Spoiler

Kain, only you can mention your mother's death and your new awesome MMX NES rom hack in one post... so condolences :( and high five :o

There's a big difference between a show being good and a shoe being enjoyable.

Thank you so much for sharing. I know it must be hard opening up to a bunch of internet strangers but we're all used to that by now. If you feel you need to edit it later, that's perfectly fine.

Thank you for sharing. Echoing Newt, it makes me even more pissed off, upset and sad that he was murdered. He was a truly, great loving guy.

Oooof... That was heavy, and thank you so much!! I read all of it.

We're not sure about MAGwest yet, but there will be a thread about it here when details are figured out. Or you could have someone here personally notify you (text, Facebook, whatever)

This event will have some sort of Daemon tribute... We'll be figuring out the details in the coming months https://www.facebook...92537476/?ti=cl

And if course there's his memorial in Vegas next week, do you know the details?

To find his posts, click his username on here to get to his profile. Then you can find topics and posts made by him.

For a more specific search feature, use Google. In the Google search bar, type this, for example:

Daemon MAGwest site:theshizz.org

That will search for things that contain "Daemon" and "MAGwest" - his own posts mentioning it, and people mentioning him and MAGwest. Fill in your own blanks! (The important part is "site: theshizz.org" colon, no space)

Shevawn, firstly theres nothing you need to apologize to for any of us about posting here and sharing. You're an amazing and brave person for getting all that out. Like everyone else I couldn't make it through without crying pretty hard. But also... nothing, not one line, was out of character for him either.

I'm Nate Horsfall on facebook, I messaged you asked if I could use the photos you were posting. I've spent the last few days reading people's stories and gathering media because Chris asked me to since he claims he is "technologically inept". When I was reading through yours on FB I broke down a few times then, and I could just tell you two meant the world to eachother. I thought "I wonder if these two were ever together... they just seem perfect.." But I was never going to ask anyone that. As absolutely heartbreaking as this is, I'm glad you two did get to have some of that perfection. Something at all. It's so obviously even in just a photo, in a text message, how much you  cared for eachother. I'm so glad you were truly able to experience that.. And I'm so angry it was taken away.

Another thing I kept seeing on the friend posts were people who kept saying "we almost lost you" or "you were taken away from us.." and I was so confused about what that meant. Of course it ends up referring to his ex making him shut everything out.. There are so many stories like that, and it's absolutely disgusting.

The last thing I've seen on all the posts is that the narrative NEVER changes. All walks of life. Us, local friends, relatives, people he just met. It's always the same with everyone. Thats pretty special. But yet it's so effortless and easy when you think about Sean. Nothing is a surprise. The only surprise is that someone actually killed him in hate.

We're here for you. He's going to live on through all of us.  Words aren't enough to describe how much pain I feel for you in this. I am so sorry. But you're always welcome here.

I hope this memories thread will bring smiles through the grief. Please post anything at all you want. Photos, videos, anything. We're here.

Shevawn, I've known Sean since the early 2000's or so. As I said on FB, he mentioned you a number of times over the years and it was always clear that he loved you. It's terrible that he was taken away right when he was starting a new life. I am glad to hear that at least you two had some time together before the worst happened. I know that being with you was what he wanted for as long as I knew him.

All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.

Thank you everyone. Your response confirmed everything that Sean always said about you all - how welcoming you all are. Please don’t stop with the memories on this thread, I and everyone else who loved him will love to read through all of them. I enjoyed reading them so far. Thank you all for your love and support. Ps my username is my D&D character that he developed for me (name and all). I was a mermaid. I have the texts from the background story he developed for me. I’ll be on here to post some things that you all might enjoy. Most of our convos moved to Snapchat for reasons specified earlier so, sadly, our chat history and all of the photos, videos and memes that he sent are gone.

Cross posting here from the original thread:

I finished up a painting for Sean as a tribute. The gold color is the main theme and the other colors are variants. I'll be providing prints free of charge. If you do want to throw money at this, then rest assured that 100% of any money will be given to the eventual trust. Alternatively if you want I can provide print ready files and you can print them at your leisure. I'm going to do a run of the gold ones and will have them with me for the memorial service.

Shevawn, thank you so much for posting that. I am so grateful that you have taken the time to write out your thoughts and experiences with Sean and knowing that he was able to experience those things and reaching a beautiful place in his life is filling me with a joy and positivity, knowing that he had the opportunity to connect with you in that way.

I wish you peace in the days to come. I can’t even fathom the depths of the void you have in your life right now, but if there is anything we can do to alleviate your suffering while you go through this process please let us know.

There was a time not too long ago that I was struggling with problems in my own marriage, and at the time, I thought it was going to be the end of me. Sean reached out to me directly and did his best to help me at a time I was inconsolable. He showed me genuine concern and compassion and I believed that he cared for me and what I was going through in a way most people wouldn’t have.

In addition to the obvious shared love of metal and video games, we also had a mutual affinity for D&D and we had often talked about trying to get a game going online together, but we were never able to get our schedules to work. From the stories he would share with us regarding the adventures and campaigns he ran, I always felt he had a great imagination and sense of storytelling and I regret never being able to sit at his table. If there’s anything beyond this life, I hope Sean is out there committing acts of heroism and righting wrongs with a sword and shield in hand.

Hey guys, Chris just sent me this:

"If you could maybe start a thread or something where everyone picks a video game song/original/cover/whatever and maybe a regular song associated with Sean that would be awesome. I am making a playlist for the memorial so it's going to be like 4 hrs of music in the background. We prob will highlight some songs to maybe observe as a group. But I thought it would be nice to include the suggestions of his friends in the playlist"

Mine is going to be and forever will be:
Vic Viper Double Dragon 2.

At Magwest last year VV was playing and they played this.. but Sean wasn't in the room. A bit later he comes RUNNING in, devastated that he missed it. After a bit of banter VV says they're going to play it again specifically for him. Everyone in the room cheers.. and they play it again. He headbanged so hard and owned that song as his own personal concert, and it was.  No one in the room was upset, and I know people who didn't even know him were smiling at how pumped he was.

A true legend
