LAST LEVEL MUSIC IS STILL BAD

Anyway, can we get some love for the scary soundscapes in horror games? I've always appreciated the art of horror game sound design, and some background VGMs in horror games are legendarily creepy - to me, still one of the great black arts of video game audio production.

There's a big difference between a show being good and a shoe being enjoyable.

Doom 64 and the Playstation version of Doom has fantastic horror music. It's super ambient and super creepy.

I'm imagining Ellis writing the script to this at a computer, and every time he gets to the end of a line about religion being bad he smacks his fedora to tip it, making the sounds of a typewriter being reset.

The first track with the bells, but also the whole album:

All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.

I think Sweet Home for Famicom boasts the spookiest 2A03 music.

The intro to Jurassic Park is mildly creepy. Ignoring the dopey cartoon T-Rex.
