Which version are you playing?

Technically, the SNES version of FF6 is multiplayer. There's an option in the config screen.

I've never used it, though, nor can I imagine it being any fun.

4-6 all have multiplayer, except the English version of 4. FF9 has it, too.

I've played all of the SNES ones multiplayer, and it's actually pretty fun! Especially in 6, where one person can control the character on the map, and the other in towns. It sounds hokey, but I like it! The only annoying part is that the game tends to shuffle up which characters belong to whom whenever the party changes.

I'm playing on an English SNES cartridge. Same goes for SoM when I start it up.

Castle man, take me by the hand lead me to the land, of the hidden ham.

I fired up FFIV earlier and WOWZA this game is much more different from VI than I expected. I always expect SNES sequels to be more like the Mega Man X series with little variation in quality. Seems fun so far, glad to start with a dragoon of the bat. Is there anything important I should know up front about this game?

In other news, TheMonk3y's brother has SoM, and I've got a multitap, so we're going to start co-opping it soon I think . Need to get a third person though.

I don't know what it's like going from VI to IV, but I hope you love it. Be sure to take your time because you can only play it the first time once.

They re-released FFIV DS for iOS recently. Ugh.

I watched the trailer for FF13 Lightning returns...ugh.

Final Fantasy and Silent Hill should go hibernate for a few years, these are two franchises I just can't stand anymore.

Is it really the DS version on iOS?
Figured it would be one of the 2D remakes.
I also figured at least three people here would get it.
Not me, though. No sir.

Also you'll be pleased to hear I got FFXIII as one of my xmas gifts

Colin, Matsu, and I went to a Fat party where everyone was pretty fat and I went to get a beer and this fat girl sat between Colin and Matsu on the futon and she sank while they were boosted up.
That party also had Fat Kareshi and we were all excited so when we left I said "bye Fat Kareshi!!" and he was all like "huaghaughahhaha byeeeeeee"

The fact that I let myself buy FFIV for the millionth time is what bothers me the most. It's better than most Square IOS ports but I always prefer buttons. ATB is a real challenge when you're fumbling with touch controls.

Yeah, it's the DS version with a normal and hard difficulty (hard is DS difficulty, I believe). They also took out Shyt....whatever his name was, Rydia's stupid summon.

AHHH, I was wondering why I couldn't find him. Good! I wish they released the PSP port for IOS instead.

I think FFIV and VI are the greatest game sin the series no doubt.

I've clocked 6 a few years back and it was a great experience. The story is pretty engaging and then music is absolutely beautiful.

I'm playing through 4 atm on my Ipad, I used to own it on the DS but i never finished it.

Sad to say but they don't make em like they used to. FF13 sucks a$$. Linear as $hit.

I lol'd.

Yeah, You must Hate X then too. Because that's more linear than XIII is.

X-2 and XII really are the most non-linear games in the series and are often the subject of much hate because of it. (Also: Cool tip - X-2  was made while they were still Squaresoft and was published in Japan as Squaresoft  several weeks before they merged with Enix. So the whole "It's terribad becare of SquareEnix" argument is invalid)

The Whole Linearity argument is moot anyway since you never have true freedom(save for X-2 Which you can a large portion of the game in the order of your choosing ). You are guided within invisible walls and given options(Read to avg person: "Choices") until a point where a method free travel becomes available. This has always been the general rule in FF and IV, VI, or even XIII isn't any different.

XIII just like IV, V or VI has a sizeable amount of optional content to do. I spent 63 hours playing through the game just doing some of the optional content.
I've known people who've done all of the optional content in over 100+ hours. That's probably not even trying to platinum trophy the game either.

Just as you could invariably spend 100+ hours doing everything and leveling up all your jobs/learning all abilities in FFV.
