Here's where you and I differ. I would be totally in if it wasn't $70-90. Although, how long into running this will it take for them to shut it down because someone took it too seriously and violently injured one of the zombies? It's a freaking Left 4 Dead LARP. How awesome is that?

these hilary clinton-looking women must be pressing their buttholes right up against the sides of the stall and letting it rip.

i read the new Life With Archie.

that shit is legit. it is not the book i remember from my younger days.

they've got gay marriage, divorce, (local)government plots...

plus, it now takes place in a MULTIVERSE.

So I was wondering about this. I heard about this with the openly gay character. Is this meant for the preteen audience it was originally conceived for or is it, like most comics, geared towards adults? I saw the one where the 99% protests came to Riverdale. I think the Kevin Keller arc preceding DC and Marvels jump into the gay world.

Though it is seeming trendy to go gay with comics books, it is...:::looks at calendar:::.... 2012. I think its time we progress as a civilization. It also fits into a larger social-cultural narrative. I'm just waiting for the marijuana legislation themes to hit family circus.

I've read a few issues and it is legitimately good soap opera comics.
If you loved ongoing shows like Dallas or Hill Street Blues or LA Law back in the day, and want cranked to 10 drama, this is the place to get it.
I can't make myself pick it up monthly, but if I ever find a whack of issues in the bins, I'm all over it.

Northstar has been gay since 1992 but you know, nobody really gives a shit about Northstar so nobody really gives a shit if he's gay or not, I suppose.

Here is the panel where Northstar bursts out of the closet in a blast of exposition:

FYI: This new Jeff Lemire written issue of Justice League Dark is tops. He's managed to give all the "established" characters more backstory and flavor in a single issue than all the previous issues combined while keeping the new additions to the team suitably mysterious. It seems like he's putting Constantine in charge of the team which is an excellent decision in my opinion and he's set up a plot revolving around a government headed secret organization who is giving them some x-files stuff to deal with. This is the book JLD should've been from the get-go.

I just got the 6 issue arc of Archie that leads into Life With Archie. While I'm reading it, i find myself reacting the same way I would to Lost.

Comic Day!

Prophet #25
Uncanny X-Force #11 (yes, I'm behind)
Reset #1
Reset #2
Mystery In Space (Vertigo one-shot)
Unexpected ( Vertigo one shot)
Murky World (Dark Horse one shot)
Ragemoore #1

new Prophet was only okay. But i'm missing #24, so I might be missing something...

I did NOT like Murky World or Ragemoore, both the script and art in both of them were not my cup of tea. Safe to say I will not be following the future work of Richard Corben.

Reset is AWESOME. I am loving Peter Bagge. I had only recently gotten into him, but I am really enjoying it.

The two Vertigo one-shots were good. Unexpected was quite a bit better than Mystery in Space.

I don't know much about this but I love it.

Two weeks in a row I spent more on creator owned comics than Big 2. Yet another step in my transition to uppity comic snob jaded butthole.

Russ Heath's story is pretty sad. It's the sort of injustice with no one to blame. It's a tragedy in same way as the guy who designed the Campbell's soup can. It's not Roy Lichtenstein's fault that nobody gave a crap about Russ Heath's comic art and it's not Andy Warhol's fault that nobody cares how the Campbell's soup label was made. But it's still really crummy (more so in Russ Heath's case, much more so).

The ending of the last DAREDEVIL was absolute genius. It ties into the overall DD story that's going on, but then I read AvX and realized it was also Mark Waid's method of tying into AvX. But you really wouldn't realize the AvX part unless you are reading AvX and happened to pay attention to the team status page at the beginning. Crazy. By the time the next issue of DD comes out that part of AvX should be over so I hope he just skirts the whole thing and keeps on with his story.

Speaking of AvX, polar bears in Antarctica is as sensible as fields of saguaro along the Jersey Turnpike. 616 wackiness.

Don't worry about not digging the Big 2. I have never been a DC fan, and Marvel gets too nutty for me sometimes. I've said it before, and YOU have told me not to worry about, but while reading Uncanny X-Force, there's a lot of background I'm missing. I'm starting the Dark Angel Saga, and there's a lot I know I am missing. I guess I could wiki some of this shit, but still, I know if I knew what happened in X-Verse past, I would just get ragey and belligerent. I'm going to stick with it for a few more issues, but for now, I'm hoping it will rely less and less on crazy back stories. I mean, when you have characters who can just hop dimensions all willy nilly, you have lots of room for wackiness.

I still imagine The Beast with the voice from the 90's shows. Definitive Beast.

Don't worry I'm not really worried or hand-wringy or anything, just talkin' comics.

Night #1 of PHXCC and already I spent too much  I did end up finding Rick Remender's DOLL & CREATURE for $3. Early 2000s Remender monster stuff? Don't know much about it, not even listed on his wiki. Picked up that Becky Cloonan WOLVES self-published mini-comic, thanks to Joe for alerting me to that. Also Matt Kindt's REVOLVER and two CONCRETE trades for hell of cheap. My goal to not stockpile more comics has gone by the wayside.

Need to remember to bring some stuff to get signed tomorrow. Chatted it up with Francis Manapul, dude is awesome. He gave Joe and I some insights onto some Flash stuff.
