First of all, the fact that we call them pitbulls instead of Staffordshire terriers points to the problem. Consider if we called Great Danes something like warhounds or murderbeasts, which is what they used to be.
I won't trust any pitbull I don't thoroughly know, because I won't trust any dog I don't thoroughly know. This is less a fault of the breed than it is the owner. Unfortunately for pitbulls, their owners are way too often are assholes, which results in these dog attacks.

Yes, if you look up Breeds of dogs involved in fatal human attacks in the United States between 1979 and 1998, you will see that pits are at the top of the list. Remember these are not dog-bit frequencies--pits are weighted with higher fatality numbers than chihuahuas because, simply, a pit is strong enough physically to kill you, while a chihuahua is not.
You can look at that and say one of two things:
- This is because pits are inherently untrainable, and are bred to kill.
- This is because idiots tend to own pits as status dogs and guard dogs, and treat them like such.
Guess which one the American Veterinary Medical Association agrees with?

No way, man. Mills has all of his pitbulls circumcised 8 days after birth, and they are all trained to read the Torah.Have fun explaining to your faceless kid how nice and gentile your pet pitbull was.

you will die of sodium poisoning before you ever take me with enough grains of salt.
Perhaps the same can be said of all birth control. But enough posting- have at you!

According to the UKC, "aggressive behavior toward humans is uncharacteristic of the breed
That seems to sum it up well. I'm not saying that different breeds don't have different traits. It'd be stupid to claim that when some types of dogs have been bred to the point where herding is part of their nature. But the big thing with pitbulls is society's view of the dog made a bunch of assholes decide to get them and raise them to be aggressive, which in turn reinforced society's view, etc etc.
Here's some more wikipedia for you, emphasis mine
Dog aggression is a term used by dog owners and breeders to describe canine-to-canine antipathy.
...
It is the owner's responsibility to ensure that these types of dogs are properly socialized and given a proper amount of exercise.
...
Dogs that display dog-aggressive behaviour do not necessarily show aggressive behaviour towards humans.

Ground Kontrol has a 3-player Rampart cab now (with trackballs)!!! My childhood revived!
![]()
clansmaneddie and I played it last night and some other awesome new additions (Sunset Riders, Smash TV, Championship Sprint...). Would be sweet to play with some Rampart with WCSers next time you guys decide to visit Portland, tho I doubt they'd let us go shirtless...
DUDE, NO WAY!? Now I really need to come up there and play some Rampart (I'll have to deal with the stupid Portland hipsters, but I'm sure that won't be a problem with good company!)

At first I thought you were going to go into a circumcision argument. We might as well notch that one off of this list since that's about where things are headed lately.

I think at max length it made it to my nipples.
