Well, Summer is fast approaching and being that I live near a river (I'm actually on a peninsula!) there are many boats on the water during this time of year. There are boats for fishing, motor boats for racing, luxury craft and the like. Then... there is party boat. I hate party boat. Party boat cruises at ALL FUCKING HOURS of the day, well into the middle hours of night and the early morning. Party boat plays music very, VERY loud. So loud in fact that it will wake me up from a deep sleep every time it passes by. The house I live in has a shitty air conditioning unit and thus I have to sleep with my windows open. This situation is rife for party boat nocturnal interruption. I just heard the first party boat of the year tonight. I do not look forward to being woken up at 3 AM by blaring rap and/or country "music" (BECAUSE THEY ARE INCAPABLE OF PLAYING ANYTHING I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR) for the next several months. Fuck you party boat. Fuck you.

My little nephew Alfie was diagnosed with a bit of bronchitis a few weeks ago. Since then he's just been getting worse, and my sister noticed this morning that his neck and ribs seemed to be sort of sucking inward as he breathed, so she took him back to the hospital, and they realised that, oh, actually, he's got pneumonia.

I like to think I'm not a violent chap, but I don't think I've ever wanted to knock someone's fucking lights out as much as I do now.

I've had pneumonia several times in my life, the most dangerous was when I was young because my parents just assumed I had the flu and decided to finally take me to the hospital after I never got better and only got worse. Pneumonia can sit in your system for a while before actually becoming overly active. It would be easy as hell for bronchitis to become pneumonia if not properly treated. I wouldn't call that a misdiagnosis as much as I'd just say it was the illness taking its natural course. Hopefully you've got the nephew on the Z-Pak now. The lung pain, and the full-body pain you can get from pneumonia, is not very enjoyable at all, to really understate it.
