I just talked with my dad today, and he said he would give me $125 for Christmas. He also said he would do the same for my sister, so now we can get a Wii for Christmas (I don't have a job, so this is a lot of money to me!!!). He also said I could get it the day it launched, so yay! Now I just have to pay for the taxes.

I've decided to spend 4 hours outside of Best Buy before midnight, hoping to be in the top 5 people of waiting for the Wii. It's been pretty chilly out here, so I'll bring my favorite blanket and a jacket. I'll also bring Pop-Tarts and Mountain Dew.

I don't reserve games anymore. I used to reserve em, and get so excited, but then I had two atrocities happen to me, and I've deicded that preordering things is a CURSE.

Situation 1: I loved the hell out of devil may cry. Great game. I'm sure you guys know what I mean. Then I hear DMC2 is coming out. I preorder it and get all psyched about it, buy it on the first day, and... wait... it sucks! so I didn't preorder DMC3, and that one was good.

Situation B: Back when I was a young-in, I preordered Halo2 and got all exiced about it. Then I ran over to the store on the launch date and... wait, what? you arn't going to sell me the game because I don't have a license on me saying that I'm old enough for an M rated game? but I bought GRAND THEFT AUTO at this very store a couple days ago. Lets not mention that my dad happened to actually be IN THE STORE when I preordered it, but no, they needed him there at the time of pickup. GAY. So screwem, I ran to another ebgames who didn't give a crap lost the money I put into the preorder.

so yeah. Screw that.
I'm just going to bank on the theory that people want to sell shit, and therefor will try to make lots of that shit avaliable.

your preorder stories are irrelevant... i give you points for at least mentioning the word "preorder" in your anecdotes though.. also your theory doesn't make sense when supply is always an issue with this sort of stuff...

so what stores are we camping? i'm hoping for a midnight opening..

• walmart - probably too convenient since the avg parent will hit this up...
• toys r us - they're doing preorders at the end of the month.. also most people ignore toys r us for stores like best buy or circuit city

It worked at a Deleware Target store when the Gamecube launched. There's an interesting blend of gamers/non-gamers around these parts. But everyone seems to avoid the "not so obvious" stores when it comes to stuff like this.

My bro knows a guy who bought 3 XBox 360's and sold them on avg for $1,000 a piece.

What I wonder is, do these stores prevent people from buying multiple Wii's? Is there a limit?

my current plan is that i will get a Wii, hopefully close to launch. Zelda, too. maybe Red Steel (though i have a feeling that it might suck). then, because i never owned a Gamecube (or even played anything on one) and because there are GC games i want to play and they're not terribly expensive either, i plan on buying a GC controller and a few GC games. then i will go on and make more long sentences (and use parentheses frequently).

all in all, i have moderately high expectations for this Wii thing.

but it sucks that it'll be released in december here in europe.
