My bro knows a guy who bought 3 XBox 360's and sold them on avg for $1,000 a piece.

What I wonder is, do these stores prevent people from buying multiple Wii's? Is there a limit?


With Nintendo claiming they will be getting around 4,000,000 consoles out to the general public this year, I doubt there will be a problem with eBaying and the such like the 360 had and the PS3 will have.

Yeah, Gamestop has a Limit of 1 per household. Even if you have a different last name, but live with a friend who also wants a Wii. You're fucked. At least, for these initial pre-orders and launch batches.

I pre-ordered at the local EB Games near me (1 of the 30 pre-orders they were giving out), but there's no guarantee I actually get one on launch day. I'll have to wait outside at midnight or early in the morning on launch day to make sure it happens.

I also pre-ordered Zelda and Red Steel... Zelda I'm thinking is most likely going to be a good thing with the years of development they've put into it, any thoughts on Red Steel though? Also, has anyone heard anything about Far Cry Vengance? I saw some screenshots but I wasn't too impressed.

There aren't any pre-order special deals right? I was pissed when I cancelled m Nintendo Power subscription a few months before they gave out the SSBM orchestra CD, and didn't preorder Windwaker so I missed out on that Zelda bonus disc.

then, because i never owned a Gamecube and because there are GC games i want to play and they're not terribly expensive either, i plan on buying a GC controller and a few GC games.

Oh yeah that too!

Is anyone else really excited about Rayman Raving Rabbids? I think I may be anticipating that more than Zelda even.

My girlfriend's brother, who works at an eb games, just told me that he thinks they are getting the playable in-store demo kiosks this week. If that is the case, I know where I'll be hanging out this weekend.

yea i know wii systems sounds lame.. i can't get the image to come out right but basically it was an answer to the plural of wii in which they said to say wii systems...

If third party support for Virtual Console gets big enough, Wii is going to slay the other consoles in units sold, easily.

I still can't wait to see a complete list of Virtual Console games that will be available at launch. They're being a bit secretive about it.

At any rate, I'm setting aside $60 for VC games at launch.

Gamasutra is reporting on reporting, with financial information from some of the large gaming companies becoming available this week. Nintendo, who had already previously raised projections, saw their profits up 72% over last year. This dramatic increase was credited largely to the DS, with 10.9 million units sold in the first six months of this year alone. Sony, on the other hand, dropped profits by 94% over this time last year. The company attributes this largely to the battery recall and PS3 start-up costs. From the article:
"The company's games division reported a ¥43.5 billion ($366.6m) loss, from a ¥8.2 million ($69,000) profit in 2005, thanks to research and development, manufacturing and marketing costs related to the launch of the PlayStation 3. Sales and operating revenue were down by 20.5 percent to ¥170.3 billion ($1.43bn). A decrease in hardware sales worldwide was attributed to a drop in price for the PlayStation 2 and PSP. Software sales also decreased overall, although individual PSP sales were up on the previous year. Combined profit from the PS2 and PSP business was described as 'relatively unchanged'."

So now we have the Wii, Nintendo's latest foray into GLORIOUS home console gaming, and I couldn't be more excited. It's a shame the system is already doomed to wind up in the closet inside two years. You see, YOU are very stupid. You, and all the rest of us playing video games. Unless you can give yourself the completely superficial thrill of saying "Hey, you see this, doesn't it look awesome?", you'll become bored, and the Wii, which is only interesting in terms of gameplay, and I mean COME ON, will be picked up by the help and moved to the closet, along with your old mobile phones, and pot bellied pig.

As far as we're concerned, innovation that isn't graphical is essentially not innovation at all. And once those systems move into the closet, Nintendo will make consoles no more forever! Because Nintendo is going to learn what any high school kid knows - if you aren't popular, you might as well kill yourself
